Tesco offer Freesat HD install bundle £99.97

TaylorBATaylorBA

For those of you reading this considering Freesat, but without any of the equipment required, this might be of interest to you.

Tesco have launched their Freesat HD bundle, which comprises of the fantastic Manhattan Plaza HD-S, as well as basic installation, all for just £99.97.

The installation itself is carried out by third party company Euro Aerials and includes the dish, lnb, cables, clips and brackets; it is a basic install but will suit most customer requirements. Alternatively, if you already have a suitable dish in place, Tesco/Euro Aerials will upgrade your LNB to a quad version.

This is a great deal, especially considering the Manhattan Plaza HD-S Freesat HD receiver alone retails for around £80. This might just be a cheap way to access Freesat.

The deal can be purchased from Tesco Direct

The item description on the Tesco website is as follows:

The Manhattan freesat HD install bundle offers everything you need to start watching freesat HD on your TV from scratch in one easy and affordable package:

- Manhattan Plaza HD-S Freesat HD receiver.
- Standard installation by Freesat approved specialists, including all necessary cables, clips and brackets and satellite dish.
- Quad LNB upgrade if a dish is already present.
- Demonstration of the receiver.

Once the box has arrived, all you need to do is call the number inside to arrange a convenient time for their installation.

The Manhattan Freesat HD DTR not only transmits programmes and channels delivered by the freesat TV service, it also transmits the newest HD channels too.

Once you’ve hooked this Manhattan TV receiver to your satellite TV connection, you’ll have instant access to a wide range of free-to-air TV and radio stations, with no subscription fees to pay. You’ll also get access to other features that are available on pay-TV systems, such as an 8 day electronic programme guide, digital text and audio descriptions for the hard of hearing.

Comes complete with easy-to-use remote control. If you connect the box to your internet connection you can also watch BBC iPlayer (cable not included in installation bundle).

Credit to bitsandpcsuk who originally posted this. That was when there was a £10 code and it got expired, still a cracking deal. Also the comments were very positive on the last thread. Thought I would ressurect so more people have a chance at this deal.

Enjoy

It was an expired offer which I didn't buy at the time as I was in a rented house but now I've moved I checked up on the deal I subscribed to and saw it was expired. Check Tesco and saw it was still at a good price, bought and then post again so other people could benefit from this good offer (the point of this website which I have been a member for a while).

The description was better than anything I could do so I copied and pasted it, I gave credit to the original poster.

Accurate info - "Tesco have today launched" isn't.

Apart from that - good post :)

Presumably you don't even need the 4-way LNB if you just want to use an old sky dish, and you only have one sat box to connect to your telly, but still a cracking good deal.

You are unlikely to get any Greek channels on this set up.

I don't think Sky broadcast to Greece, they do broadcast to Italy.

Is this available in Northern Ireland?

Is this available in Northern Ireland - and do you only get the Quad LNB if you have an existing dish?
Where can I find answers to these questions?

Tescos website is currently reporting the following:
    We're very sorry...

We are carrying out planned maintenance to our direct website. We will be back soon.

So, is this worth it? Will the picture be clear? especially the HD stuff (I'm in West London).

For HD you need a 2 way LNB minimum due to the bandwidth used. However, as there are only 2 or 3 HD channels on freesat at the moment, BBC1 ITV spring to mind.
