Tesco recycle (Flipswap) get Clubcard points for CRT TV's andother electricals
Was trying to find where to recycle old electrical equipment and came across this
Post them off or take your goods to a Tesco
1. Find your electrical product – Search for your electrical product using the make and/or model name. Use the pictures in the search results to be sure that you're trading in the right device. Next, answer a few questions to get the real-time trade-in value for your device. Then, provide some contact information and you're ready to post it!
2. Post it for free – TESCO Electrical Trade-in offers a free post label. Find a suitable box or padded envelope and stick on the pre-paid label provided with your trade receipt. Be green and reuse a box or envelope that you already have lying around the house.
3. Get paid – Step 3 is the easiest. Depending on your payment option, expect to receive your payment about 3 weeks after your electrical product(s) arrive at TESCO Electrical Trade-in warehouse.

As long as the following criteria is met:
The trade in value indicated is representative of an 'as new' 'second-hand' device, which is fully functioning and must be complete with all required cables, chargers and essential parts to work properly. The value presented is the maximum value offered, which can be adjusted downward based on our in-store assessment of the device's general condition.
You may get less!
Would rather give it to charity .
programme on a few weeks ago about crt tv's and monitors about were they go to be "recycled", doubt tesco are spending the time or money to honestly recycle them
This would be brilliant of the offered more in clubcard points, they are offering £290 cash for a grade A ipad 3 16gb wifi. Say they offered £315 in club card vouchers, You cold sell those vouchers on ebay for around twice as much and get £600 for your £400 iPad :P
Shame they dont do it though, there is something about getting up to £50 in green club card vouchers, but there isn't much info on that

I doubt any charity shops would. I have never come across one that does.

British Heart Foundation electrical shops. They take furniture as well, they will pick up for FREE. No idea how far from the nearest store they do this. Website down at the moment.

The first £50 of each item traded in can be paid in club card points. They are green club card points, not vouchers, they just show in a seperate section of your club card statement but can be used just like regular points. I traded in an iPad 2 and got my first £50 as points which is worth between £100 - £200 in reward deals. I also got a quote, which locked in the trade in value for 14 days, just after the new iPad was announced so got a good deal.
The only downside is that the freepost label they provide is a waste of time for high value items. They recommend recorded delivery but you get no extra insurance with that and no real tracking. I had to send my iPad Special Delivery to get it properly insured.
