Tesco Roast & Ground Coffee - BOGOF £1.39

Tesco have the following on a Buy One Get One Free offer:

Tesco Original Blend Roast & Ground Coffee, 227g - £1.39

Tesco French Roast & Ground Coffee, 227g - £1.82

Tesco Italian Roast & Ground Coffee, 227g - £1.69

Tesco Colombian Roast & Ground Coffee, 227g - £2.45

At 70p per pack, the original blend works out much cheaper than their value blend and I think it beats any of the competitors by around 30p.

For those who prefer brand names, they have Douwe Egberts Real Cafetiere Coffee, 250g and Douwe Egberts Real Filter Coffee, 250g both half price at £1.39.

I don't think so. I think the BOGOF offer is just for the varieties listed above.

Just to add that this offer was not advertised in my local store. However, all the varieties listed had yellow labels, which is normally an indicator that an item is on offer. I got 2 packs of the original blend and the BOGOF was applied just fine.

Time to stock up me thinks, i go through at least one bag of these a week. Very Hot indeed! Get em quick though as they tend to run out on offer, well at my tesco anyway.

What a bargain! I stocked up on the 454g packets as they were recently £1.73 or so. Far superior to Asda's own brand which I also stocked up on unfortunately.

none of these are suitable for an expresso machine I guess? have to continue buying illy at twice the price ?

I used them in a bialetti espresso machine and they were fine.

The Original blend contains Robusta beans and you can taste 'em, so not the best quality.

Ive recently tried the Italian Ground coffee. I liked it so heat is added :-) xx

Italian one is the one to go for, tastes as good as some of the more expensive brands, i go through bags of it. Can be used in both caffetieres and machines.

Original blend is not the best.

I believe there are offers on Douwe Egberts(sp?) filter or caffetiere coffee, its either half price or bogof as well, seen it last night.

As noted in my original post, Douwe Egberts Real Cafetiere Coffee, 250g and Douwe Egberts Real Filter Coffee, 250g are both half price in Tesco at £1.39.

From the comments on this thread, I think I will pay the bit extra and stock up on the Italian blend. I was in another store today and it was not advertised at all,. Again the blends in the offer had yellow labels, so they will go through at BOGOF, but it seems like Tesco aren't worried about pushing it.

If your after Douwe Egberts Coffee's then try one of the cheepie stores in most towns, my local has a selection of their 250g coffee's i.e. Le Cafe expresso (5), De-caff (3) etc for £1and another store has 500g Real Coffee medium Roast (3) for £1.65.
