You could put another tenner or so to it and get a real one from almost anywhere.

would be great if the product was actually available :(

Fake dome camera on fleabay more realistic and cheaper... minus the red flashing led, nothing says im fake more than that. Does any real cctv camera ever flash red? I think not.

I remember years ago I was having some trouble from some local children and mentioned that I was going to put up a security camera, however, I was told by a neighbour (who belonged to the local Neighbourhood Watch) that I would have to get permission off of the police to put a camera up - is this actually the case? Thank you.

not if you are surveying private property of your own and catching a public arts add Party if that is ok too (e.g. The road outside your house)

No you can video anything you want, and domestic CCTV is exempted from the Data Protection Act, info here

Though your surveillance of another persons property is a bit of grey area. For example videoing your front garden with the neighbour's house across the road in view would be perfectly fine, videoing your next door neighbours bedroom window would not be. AIUI there are not any hard and fast rules covering the matter. I think it's more covered by public nuisance and peeping tom laws rather than anything directly related to CCTV.

cameras may not look like that anymore. but a deterent of sorts is better than none at all. the hardened thieves will rob whether there is a camera or not its the chancres that will get spooked by seeing it and think nah not this one. and shame price went back up. still got poundland dummies

'feel safe'..... are they throwing in a shotgun?

Real cameras are a deterent, more importantly they give you peace of mind in the event of something happening while you're out.... a neighbour ran into our car whilst we were at work, I bet the only reason they put a note through the letterbox was because of our CCTV :)

The thing is that dummy cameras can be had for less money that look like modern ones. My local pound shop sells ones that look modern.

That camera looks SO obviously fake that I'm almost tempted to buy one to hide a real cctv camera module inside, as there would be a good chance of getting a clear photo of a thief's face while he is looking at it and laughing :)
