Hello,

Am not up to date with all this mobile stuff but I found this yesterday in my local Tesco in Liverpool, Old Swan. At the checkout in a box with a leaflet saying Tesco sim cards £2.50 I think it was. Then on a little sign next to it it says with Tesco mobile top your mobile credit to £15 each month and we will triple the credit to £45. Now this dose seem a good deal I have searched and I cannot find this deal posted on here before but it it has somewhere am sorry.

Interesting, I spotted this earlier at Tesco.

Ours says that if you top up a tenner (yes, just £10) they'll make it up to £45.
Now I'm not sure if that's the first time only, but it seems like a good deal.

This has been out a while now, but it is still a good deal and heat added:thumbsup:

Looks good on surface, however Tesco call rates are so expensive that your "extra" credit is soon eaten up. In the end you pay more than with Asda, for example.

I've just looked at ASDA mobile prices and I'm seriously impressed.

ASDA 8p per minute to any number.
Tesco 10p per minute to 5 favourite numbers, 20p per minute all other numbers.

ASDA 4p per text to any number
Tesco 5p per text to 5 favourite numbers, 10p per text all other numbers.

ASDA network vodafone
Tesco network o2

I am now thinking of changing to ASDA from T-Mobile. Glad I found this post.Rep to PET2000

O2 have a great package called O2 numbers where they take £5 a month from your Pay and Go Credit and you get 1000 texts or calls to 10 O2 numbers of your choice. As all my mates are on O2 it only costs me £5 a month. Plus I have the O2 sim where if you top up a tenner you also get 300 free texts to any network. This is by far the best deal I have found for people on a budget and ideal if your mates or family are on O2 :p

4.2 Free Credit can not be used for:

(a) premium rate texts where special charges apply,

(b) texts sent from the UK to international numbers;

(c) texts sent from outside the UK to any number;

(d) picture messages from outside the UK; or

(e) any chargeable texts you receive.

As you can see, they may well triple it, but you can't use it as you wish.

...and you have to use your free credit up within a month. Great if you do, but not nice when you lose it. All those call cost calculations you made in your head fly out the window. It's just too fiddly, too difficult to work out where you are with it all the time.

I went with asda mobile few months ago, it works and its cheap. For light..ish users its maybe the cheapest on PAYG, heavier users might want a decent contract. Agree that Tesco tariff is pricey
