Hi All,

I appreciate the posting that has reached near 4000 degrees is super hot, but personally I needed something that offers higher minutes as im a medium/high user.

Basically my current mobile contract is with Vodafone and ends this month - i pay £43 per month and i get.....
# 600 minutes anytime any network
# Unlimited Texts and
# 1 GB Internet useage

(I should also add for this contract, i had to be tied in for 18 months)

Now my contract ends this month, i want to reduce the cost per month but want a similar tariff..... ive been told to look out for Sim Only Deals.

Ive checked places such as "3" but today visited Tescos -

They have on offer a SIM only deal and for just £12 .50 per month you get -
# 500 Minutes anytime any network
# 5000 texts (which is practically unlimited as you'd have to use alot to use all them up)
# 1 GB Internet useage

AND ontop of this you are only tied in for just 3 months !!!..... i honestly have searched high and low for a deal like this,so i would say for any MEDIUM user, this is one of the best deals available.

What you have to remember on your last dea,l you most likely got a phone worth hundreds of pounds, so you were paying for your phone in the contract.
I only have sim only deals and then buy the handset I want. T-mobile has some good deals too.
#2
Yes mate thats correct - it was an iphone 4 so i do understand the contract tariff is increased to cover the handset cost..... but still for a practically same tariff for only £12.50 per month and only a 3 month tie in - i dont know anywhere that can better that package?

I think one of the mods has changed the title to say its tied in for 18 months????.... this is NOT CORRECT, please can you change as ive just been speaking to the guy in the shop and he says you are only tied in for 3 months.

I signed up to this tariff just over a week ago - a very good offer I think, it has been going for about a month now for this price. Definitely a 3-month deal, I can confirm.

I think it's hot, in fact it is a better offer than the staff are offered on SIM-only

It does say 3 months on the web site as well. Good deal, personally I am after good 30 day deals now. I have literally just switched to O2 Simplicity but may well change in a couple of months. It's nice knowing you aren't tied in for a year!

http://phone-shop.tesco.com/tesco-mobile/sims/ shows this as a special offer for 3 months (also includes unlimited BT OpenZone WiFi).

Several other 'special offers' also available - £12.50 per month offer with 12-month tie in seems to be a good deal considering 750mins, 5000sms, 1gb

Sure these were posted last week. I signed up to this very deal. They also had the deal up about the 750mins 12months though.

just remember call waiting, call forwarding, three or more way calling are not available on Tesco.

Anyone know if the Tesco network is any good??.... does it get a good signal ??.. ive heard they use the O2 network if thats true.

Hot from me. My son uses the Tesco network and has never had any problems.

Wouldn't there also be Quidco/TCB on this too?

the only reason i went back on o2 from tesco. have an 0800 diverted to mobile for business and cant afford to miss a call.
not sure on how your answerphone service works if there is no call waiting ??
tesco and giff gaff are best at the moment imho
#13
Hmmm, looks good. Will investigate tomorrow....cheers

Heat added from me ... Sadly I'm in a contract with 9 months left for my iPhone 4S though but thanks for posting! xx

Funny, but I'm at the opposite end of he spectrum.
I have been Sim only for 5 or 6 years. No free phone in that time, but tonight decided to get me and the wife signed up to Tesco iPhone contracts.
She gets a new iPhone 3GS 250 mins. 5K texts and a Gig of data. Nothing upfront.
I get a new iPhone 4S, 750 mins, 5K texts and a Gig of data. £135 upfront.

£20 & £35.

I'm well happy with the deal. As stated, first tied in deal in years, but it works for e.

ok ill get shot down for this as im not comparing like with like, however the sim600 with '3' (12 month contract I know, and maybe not as good a network) seems to be a great deal. £12pm for 600mins, 3000txts and 1gb internet. £81.82 quidco cashback results in an effective monthly cost of a few pennies over a fiver a month. No brainer
#20
Opted for this contract just over a month ago as I needed a MicroSim for my Lumia 800. After the 3 months you can switch to the 12 month 750gb /5000txt/1gb data £12.50 contract if you're not bothered about BTopenzone access.
#21
DO YOU GET A PHONE WITH THIS...

...or is it sim only
#22
Medium user? You need to seek help if you spend 500 mins a month on a mobile.
The text limits are ridiculous :p

Of course it is.

Getting Scarlett Johansson to sleep with you is better, but it's not gonna happen for £12.50 a month
#24
Good stuff - I really like where this 3 month thing is going. Thank goodness they've not gone down the route of 36 month contract!

My Voda 900mins, 3000 txt and 1GB internet works out at just over £3.33pm :P

You could have thought of some one else than her. She really is nauseating and pretentious in this Dolce Gabanna advert >

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJOsWphOZ8Y&feature=related

Anyway this is a decent deal if you already have a phone. I want another contract and this would do, an after hours phone, so I can switch off one phone and all the annoying pretentious pouty (fishface keira knightly) actresses can't contact me then and annoy me. Knightly and Johansson really irritate me, grrr.

I am on this tariff using iPhone. Advice though. Even though tesco is similar to O2 you will need to contact O2 to unlock your phone which they do for free. Takes about a week for them to do this. I have been happy since swapping apart from the fact Tesco Movile have no call waiting and no visual voicemail but for the saving I am making coming from a £46 tariff I am more than happy :-) Hot from me.

If you have a smart phone, and need internet you are better off with giffgaff, you can get a free micro from here for free: http://www.giffgaffmicro.co.uk
#30
I've got to echo what's already been said - Giffgaff is the way forward if you're interested in this Tesco SIM only deal. Also on O2 network but comes with unlimited data as part of their £10 monthly goodybag. And there's no 3 month tie in (not that 3 months is a particularly long time to be tied in, though)

With these 3 month contracts, does that mean they can change the terms every three months so you effectively receive less?

... And Chilwell Red, I take it you're off to the City Ground with the money you save on your phone contract, atmosphere is going to be immense.

I'm interested in the unlimited BT OpenZone WiFi option, but it states iPhone sim, I don't have an iphone, is there an option for HTC phones?
