I've got a fiesta 1.25 zetec & ford specify a special grade oil for zetec motors (think its 5w40) any of you petrolheads know if I could use tescos finest instead cos times is hard.
Don't want to cause premature wear but worried ford are just tryin to sell oil.

Depends on how old it is and the mileage, and how regularly you want to change the oil IMO.

8 years or older and or 140,000 miles plus I would say yes.

Here's a must read link for everyone. http://www.carbibles.com/engineoil_bible.html

In brief this oil would benefit from changing more regularly, but you can't complain at this price.

Will be mineral

10w40 is semi synthetic, it's 15w40 that is mineral

Not necessarily. If it was semi-synthetic it would say so on the front of the can as this is a selling point.

I have looked at the bottles they have instore now, and I am convinced these are just Tesco's old stock. I'm also sure from when I bought a bottle ages ago these were the better rated (A3/B3) than Tesco's new designed bottle (A2/B2).
