PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING

Guys, we've decided to try this out and see how it goes. There have been a lot of supermarket deals on the forum lately, so we've decided to ask that they be kept in one thread for each of the major retailers. This will be here for your reference every time you log on.

If you have spotted a good deal at your local Tesco, please post it in here. Please try to include as much detail as you can in your post, such as the selling price, the weight/quantity, the brand, the saving, the regular price, price comparisons, etc etc.

If you post Tesco deals in a thread of their own, it is likely the deal will be removed and you will be asked to re-post in here. The only exception to this would be when that particular deal is available online at the special price, in which case, the individual thread would be allowed to stay.

These threads are for general everyday items, food deals, BOGOF offers and such. Seperate threads are still advisable for "hot deals", which we have seen a few of in the past on HUKD.

Note: ALL general banter and discussion will be removed, we'd like to keep this as concise as we can. If you wish to discuss the issue of supermarket deals, we have discussion threads in the comments forums.

Thanks!

Well in the newspaper ads it said the offer ran until 5th - and it is no longer on the tesco site.

Maybe you got lucky :)

Thanks for the info saxo.. :)

This thread is the best place for posting these offers & eventually will become a HOT Thread when good supermarket deals are posted here.
#25
thing is tho Edi, and i dont think any of you have though of this....:whistling: :p

Once you have voted this cold or hot, you cant vote again so this thread will never work, you could have 50 amazingoffers on here yet it would still be cold because people can only vote once on one deal.

People looking over the thread will see the top as being 70% cold and bother looking down the list

thats the way im thinking anyway ! lol

Agreed .. as some people rushed to vote cold because they didnt like the idea :p

However, thread will get hotter as the viewing goes up along with hot votes from who find a bargain:)
#27
cool, i hope so !

we should have started the thread off again with 0%, as you said there was loads of people who rushed in and clicked cold :)

oooerr its going up, the heat is now at 59% now
#28
just gone from -70 to -59 ;-)

Going to take ages for it to get to a reasonable level though lol.

Good find on the washing powder though Saxo:thumbsup:
#29
Washing powder is a great deal... (and should be a hot deal in its own thread...) but listing all offers in one thread is - IMO a poor idea..... So I had to vote cold originally in this thread - so it deserves to stay a minus......
#30
i dont think enough people are seeing this deal, with hardly any comments about the washing up powder

i really dont think this is working folks ??? its now on page 5 (as ive set my pages to the most views on one page)

I think we should have made the Tesco thread and the Asda thread Stickys

Only way to make a thread popular is by posting good deals.. making sticky doesnt work. I'll amend the title to reflect a date of the latest update:)
#32
Good deal on the soap powder Saxo, voted hot.

These supermarket deals should be more visible to members in my opinion. They are an ideal reference point just before venturing out on ones weekly shop or indeed doing your online shop.

Can I ask why they can't be made sticky ? I'm sure there must be a valid reason but I can't see it.

woo hoo...getting better folks, soon be out the cold and in the warmth lol

i went to my local new tesco yesterday and the washing powder was there so we got 2 lots ( my son likes playing).

they also had the crisps bogof so we grabbed them.

i did see a 14 inch colour tv ( alba i think) reduced down to £29.99 marked as clearance, were about 8 of them, ok i suppose to leave on a caravan or put in the kids room or for the kitchen or something, they were not great but at £30 who cares, i didnt get one as we have moe than enough tv's in out house.
#35
Im glad you found the the 2 deals useful brum, thanks for that
#36
I've only just found this thread and the washing powder deal is great!
I fully understand the need to try to put these supermarket deals in one place, but would it not be a better idea to have a seperate forum just for supermarket and instore deals - so people don't have to trawl through one post to see if there is anything of interest.
#37
Dunno if this has been mentioned, but the 5 packs of frozen salmon are reduced to £1.25 a pack! for FIVE salmon fillets!! I bought 18 packs :D
