Saw this grinder in the watford tesco store today, marked at £11.74, online at £14.99
http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.207-0283.aspx

it swiped at £7.00, so I bought 1, had about 5 left on the shelves.
Quite probably a mis-price so may not be national. This same product had been on HUKD before at £3.74 which is why I've had my eye on it. I still think £7 is a cheap, so may be worth a try at your local if you're in the market for a grinder.

ps: till roll, just says "Angle Griner £7.00" so please don't ask me to scan and post it...

Hope this helps someone out.

Bit of an odd question this - but this is about angle grinders.....
I've got a 'buried' piece of scaffolding pole in the garden, which sticks up out of the ground about 8 inches approx. Must have been from a previous owner where perhaps they put a rotating washing line in it, or something !!!
Any - I can't dig it out - too deep. But if I dig down enough, will an angle grinder do the job of essentially cutting through it, so that I can remove most of whats above ground?

yes it would

been this price now for a while...heat added

i had the same problem, angle grinder worked fine to remove metal and then a hammer to take it down so mono block could be laid over the top...very easy to do.

Might invest in one then (plus some goggles) and have a bash at that on the weekend. It's become a bit of a feature, but not exactly a pretty one !! Thanks for responses.

Just in case you want a second opinion I agree. Sparks will fly so wear goggles

Just remember that with any cheap tools (Angle grinder especially) DONT force the tool. just let the disc cut the metal in it's own time and the angle grinder will not burn out.

Force it and smell defeat.

Be warned! :)

Great for removing wheel clamps!

I've got to agree that this is only going to be good enough for small jobs and minor diy, can't believe it'll be up to anything more.
