it was voted by the public, how many of those you think had the high end stereo's compared to the amount that bought this for the kitchen/conservatory etc
if the poll was for the 'best' stereo (sound quality etc) i highly doubt it would be near the top!

Oh no, don't start one of those arguements off, it just puts people off reading the thread.

This is what it says in the daily star today ...

"A sound system costing less than £17 has been voted the best in britain.
The Tesco MC-907 costs just £16.49 yet customers voted it as the best hi-fi on comparison website Reevoo.com.
It scored 9.31 out of 10, beating brands like Sony."

http://www.reevoo.com/awards/2009/best-hifi-systems
Reevoo.com says ...
"Why it Won
It’s probably true that no-one expected a Tesco Value hi-fi to win the Gold Award, and it’s certainly true that shoppers love the MC-907’s price – less than £20 – but this hi-fi isn’t only about value. Just as importantly it looks the part, and won’t be out of place in your teenager’s bedroom, or even in the living room. With good sound quality and easy controls, this hi-fi does the basics well for all the family."
