Hi all,

I was in Tesco's recently and spent about £30. However, I forgot to use my Tesco vouchers which were worth a few quid and extra clubcard points. I said to customer services what had happened, but as it was nearly midnight, I was advised to come back the following day and it would get sorted then. I returned the next day and got £5 in cash and 150 clubcard points too without any hassle from the customer Service staff.

If you ever forget to use vouchers, keep your reciept and Tesco will honour them the next time you go to Tesco (although you'll have to try to remember to do this should you forget first the time).

i thought you had £30 in vouchers PHEW !!!

ALtho iv never heard of the Customer services redeeming the voucher after the point of sale.

I mean to say that I bought groceries worth about £30 and had some vouchers to use, but forgot.

I have listed this as a tip, not as a deal per se.

aha, I just read your first post :)

Never had a problem in my local tesco, always great CS. Remember paying at the checkout and forgetting to hand in my coupons for "extra points" - the ones like 700 points if you spend over £70 and £50 points if you buy dairy products etc... and they managed to put them all through ok. Also once when I plain forgot to give my clubcard over at checkout, they then credited it after as well on production of the receipt. So, yes, it always pays to ask!

Tesco accepted vouchers without hesitation. Tesco CS does seem to be pretty good
#5
I have had the exact opposite and had to write to CS to complain, thaks to the unhelpful staff in store and on the CS phone lines, I would not take this for granted that they will do this
#6
sorry to hear about that darknoiz, maybe Tesco have realised it is important to deliver good cs as well as products

I have heard Sainsburys do this with the Nectar points as well and know of someone who scrounges the outside carts and bins to find receipts that don't have points applied - then brings them to customer service to have the points applied to their Nectar card ;)
#8
wow! - that scrounger is a real hard core bargain hunter:shock:

Ok the customer service desk will add points on that have not been added on already at the checkout altho its really up to the discretion of the store to do this or not.
This is for the coupons not for the Vouchers!

I may have failed to grasp the nuances of Tesco nomenclature, but what I mean is that, I had clubcard vouchers (or ought that to be coupons, I really don't now?) which I forgot to redeem. I then, after instruction by Tesco staff, redeemed them the next day which resulted in me recieving £5 cash and 150 clubcard points.

I don't mean to suggest that Tesco would do this with non-Tesco vouchers/ coupons, (although they might, I really don't know).

I accidentally threw all my vouchers away that I have collected over 2 years!:whistling:

What should I do?

unfortunately Tesco clubcard vouchers are usually only valid for a limited time. But, if you keep future vouchers and reciepts, you might be able to redeem them if you forget at the point of sale :)

snap! same number of posts 56cheffy:p

This isn't a deal and should be put in the random chit chat section.
#14
This has been posted as a tip - it may help others save money as it did me:-D
#15

Vouchers can be sent out again, phone us up at dundee or Cardiff and we can rollover any vouchers that have went out of date, we have a system that we can view that tells us if you have spent them or not.
or you can send them into us at the address a CSM will give you when you call.

Vouchers are valid for a year period altho as iv said they can be sent in to be put back onto your account.

Vouchers can be redeemed against

on the tescos theme, youve probably heard this one, but for those who havent :)

if you get charged more money than the price marked on the shelf(ie shelf says £20, when you get to till it says £30) dont complain at the till, youll only get someone go look at the shelf for the correct price then charge you that.

just pay and then goto CS. tesco will refund your money and give you the item for free.

this is written at every till if you look hard enough :)

Oh no - this is going to open up a can of worms again. Sorry Ralph but you're a bit behind the times.
As for getting your vouchers redeemed in the shop i can't believe people are still using these as a cash substitute! Haven't people heard of Clubcard deals??

Not everyone wants the things offered by Clubcard deals, and therefore it's better value for those people to take it as cash. I've just been through the list, and nothing there interests me. Money off shopping I'd be getting anyway, on the other hand, does ;).

I actually spent £23 in vouchers the other day! The address on my clubcard was messed up for 3 years, and they never sent out any statements. I called up recently and got it fixed, and apparantly I'd accumulated quite a few points :).

A chap told me the other day that if you use your voucher allowance elsewhere; the example he used was booking car hire in Italy, you get a lot more bang for your vouchers.

Might be worth having a look where else you can use the vouchers.
#24
theyre worth 4 times as much

Phone Tesco CS and they can see that you haven't spent the Clubcard vouchers and can re-issue them, they will even do out. of date ones. Phone number on website.
