The online wine.... great offer - especially if you can use any of the vouchers available. I just put some wine in my basket to check and I had a £15 off voucher there banked (though I don't know what it was as I foolishly deleted it to check another voucher - xxb25z - which gave 1000 points which apparently works with only a £25 spend.

Tesco 12X french white, 24X tesco australian white and 24X tesco chiliean white

Hang on I just realised I got 60 bottles not 50 ...LOL:giggle:

The Wife and I open a bottle a day so at £1.60 per bottle we have just saved about £84, if we had bought wine at £3 a bottle.

If you want to give people realy cheap stuff the Tesco Hock is cheaper than tap water (nearly)

edit: when going via the groceries section I mean?

if you have say a few accounts and you receive the vouchers and they have the name on the voucher can you use all of them on one account even if they have different names?

thanks

already reflected in the prices

It isn't for me...

From Groceries section:

From wine section:

If you order from grocery the discount isn't shown. The price you pay is the price instore on the day of delivery, so the discount will be applied by the driver and you will see it on your receipt when the order is delivered.

Thanks... :)

only a few left on 8th at mine, none before :-( didnt realise they delivered on sundays

The Australian stuff is perfectly drinkable (although I'm no wine buff) I'm fairly sure I've had the chilliean before and it was alright, not too sure about the french white, we will see!

Just to clarify - if you order from the Wine section you don't have to have delivery before the 8th to get the 30% off - the price you pay is the price at the online Checkout. If you order from the Groceries section you have to have them delivered on or before the 8th - the price you pay is the price at the tills of your local store on the day of delivery (the online Checkout price is only a guide).

Thanks for that, means I dont have to wait in on a sunday!!

Some of the prices on line are not as good as they are in store, this is only one that I noticed because I just bought it instore

eg. Calloway Crossing Chardonnay, price on-line £19.89 for 6 bottles (without delivery)

price in-store £20.94 - 30% = £14.66!

Yes - as per original post.

Good spot Blueladd. Calloway is one of my sisters' favourites though I suspect she will want to take advantage of the points offers available by ordering online. Tempting though!

ignoring "vouchers"

On-line gives you 30% off, or greater if the "underlying discount" is greater, but this is all simply combined and shown as "special offer price":

e.g. if there was an underlying dicount of "20%" discount will become "30%"; if there was an underlying discount of "50%" then discount will be 50%. There is no "compounding of discounts".

Whereas "in-store" discounts are compounded.

So if "underlying discount" was "20%" discount would be a total of 44%, e.g a £10 bottle reduced to £8 and then 30% off would make £5.60, assuming you bought 6 bottles.

Whereas if "underlying discount" was 50% you would get a total discount of 65%; a £10 bottle reduced to £5 and then 30% off would make £3.50, assuming you bought 6 bottles.

Example of 50% discount is Bricout Cuvee Prestige Reserve Champagne which is showing as £12.50 in my local Tesco which "normally" if you buy 6 would be, less 5%, i.e £71.25 which is exactly what Tesco on-line currently show.

Whereas if I bought 6 instore I believe I would currently pay £52.50, being 6 bottles at £12.50 less 30%.

I have not bought any during this current offer but this is certainly how it has worked in previous "30% off 6 bottles offers". I think "instore" tesco simply change the normal "5% off 6 bottles" on their tills to a 30% discount.

Yes it is. And you get the points too (ie use a 1000points voucher)

I have just ordered this online and the 30% off will be deducted off when they deliver...I paid £25.38 for 6 calloway crossing and 3 small 25cl bottles of wine...I used £10 off £25 spend and there's still 30% to come off the £25.38

so total is £10.76..plus I went through quidco so money back there too:-D

What is the cheapest way to buy 12 bottles of Buckfast?

I get £43 approx. then use a code & it only takes off £0.01 :-(

Be gentle peeps & any help would be appreciated.

Maybe an idiots guide to buying?

I have a Tesco account set up already.
