Voted cold - farmers can't affor to LIVE on this price, I'd rather pay the extra 50p.

The sad thing is that extra 50p probably lines the pockets of the supermarkets rather than the farmers.

See here for the UK wholesale price for 1 litre of milk:

Hot Deal  !

As far as I'm aware it doesn't matter who a farmer sells his milk to, - they get a set amount per pint anyway.

Is it a bit cooler up there on the moral high ground?

So ALL the farmers go out of business and we have no milk? Methinks there's a flaw in the logic here!

I'm with the farmers on this one.

A fair price for a fair product. Its all well and good having our milk (and indeed veg and meat) prices forced lower and lower, but these farmers are really struggling to live and agriculture is such a big part of our culture and economy.

I'd gladly pay £1.50 for 2l as well, as long as the big chains didn't get the extra.
