Popped in to Aldi (Plymouth Store) first thing this morning to do some food shopping and came across this amazing deal. Checkout girl said this deal should be nationwide.

The picture quality is great and it's played all my Divx files both from dvd, USB sticks and SD memory cards.

The metallic effect finish is excellent and the unit looks very classy and feels tough and sturdy.

The free carry case, earphones, car adaptor, AV leads and 3 year warranty are really the icing on the cake.

beware, Aldi refunded me last summer due to sending back under warranty, Aldi told me that Tevion was in recievership so would honour the warranty.

I have no idea about Tevion's financial situation but as you say Aldi will cover your warranty anyway should there be a problem. After sales support can be contacted on 01270 508538 or online at http://www.quesh.co.uk - the website is running and up to date so everything seems to be fine.

I can't believe a feature packed portable dvd player that plays so many file formats, has a USB and Sd card slot and comes with some great free accessories as well as a 3 year warranty is currently being voted cold.

I've never even seen a basic portable dvd player for this price.

I bought this dvd player a few months ago for £49.99 as I heard so many positive things about it. But when I bought it home I realised it was scratched and I had to have a refund as they had no more left! :( And after that I never bothered going back to see if they got any more in. BUT this has deffinitely motivated me to go and get another one. What a great deal and with a 3 year warrenty you can't really complain! Voted hot! Do you know how long the offer's on till?

Looks a good deal at that price, but still £49.99 in Stevenage, so may not be Nationwide (couldn't find it under offers on Aldi website).

@ sairendipity - I'm afraid i don't know how long the deal is on for. Definitely worth having a look again after your misfortune last time. Hope you manage to pick one up and you have no problems. Cheers.

At this price you can buy 2 and they can watch seperate DVD's. Just get a power socket doubler for the car.

I bought one of these at £49.99 and have had no trouble with it. Lorry driver and use daily almost. Great little machine and value plays everything I have thrown at it so far on disc, sd card and mem stick.

we had one from aldi, be warned the company which now covers the warranty for tevion can only fix certain things, unlike the original company - they were great. however latest problem occured towards end of 3 yr warranty if they cant fix it they will only offer u a partial refund. the warranty guy said to aldi head office to offer me 50% refund. however aldi refused and said it was classed as wear n tear and said £6 back n they have to collect the item. crap 3 year warranty if u ask me. the store will get someone to contact you but do not offer refunds after 30 days either. you have to wait for head office to contact you first. fair enough we got 3 years use out of it but just dont relie on their 3 year warranty thats all.

This does indeed look like a fantastic bargain! I'm going to work abroad this year and wouldn't mind taking something like this with me. I was looking at the Sony DVPFX730R 7-inch Portable DVD Player @ Amazon for £120. Similar specs, and has been in my wishlist for a few months now with no real price drop.

I'm not sure if my local would stock something like this though, but I may be getting up extra early for work now though, as these types of things tend to go out of stock VERY quickly.

Not voting until either others have verified it, OR I see for myself.

Bought 2 of these at this price before christmas in Bristol store, absolutely cracking for the money, plays any disk/formats and as said before feels solid compared to others for slightly more. Would recommend for sure, if they last a year I'll be happy at this price(_;)

how long do the batteries last?

Bought one yesterday from Aldi in Ramsgate, £44.99 it will be hard to find a similar portable player with the same features as this for this price.

Would definitely recommend anyone getting one.

I think I got about 2 and a half hours from dvd but would think maybe a bit longer from memory stick / card.

@MDL199 - You can have some rep for the pics, thank you.

Looks like I'll be heading over to my "local" in the morning if I can get up that early. I have work too, and I'm doing the usual 12 hours each day (hence the post at 2.30am). I'm going to have an interesting journey to work though I know that much. Fingers crossed there's some in my store.

I don't think this deal is nation wide as I went to my local Birmingham branch and they were still £49.99 there!! :( I asked someone about the reductions and they thought I was stupid! oO

Sorry to hear that. Even at normal price still amongst the cheapest i've seen for a divx playing portable so worth considering.

I couldn't get up early enough to travel out of my way yesterday morning. I have today (Weds) off work. I'll pop down after I've hibernated and caught up with the sleep I so desperately need.

You're right, but if I know that they are being sold for £39.99 in some Aldi stores then why should I pay a tenner more? I 've just rang them and they were terrible! Firstly the women said we dont sell portable dvd players it must be Lidl stores and then she said that I MIGHT find some old stock somewhere for £49.99. Absoultly ridiculous! This has one again put me right off, if they're this bad when I havent actually bought the product then what would they be like if I was to buy it and it became faulty! A complete shambles! :(

A word of warning. I'm in the process of getting mine replaced/refunded as it has stopped recognising discs after only 1 month of use.

They will probably have them but they could be £49.99 which is the regular price.
