Tevion HD 1080p Satellite system £79.99 @Aldi Instore

Just been into my local Aldi store in Haverfordwest and they have 5 HD Satellite systems complete with Receiver/Dish/Satellite Finder/Mounting bracket and HDMI Cable ...

This is NOT the portable camping system.

FOUND IT ONLINE http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/special_buys3_14324.htm

Get HD reception of Freesat channels (BBC and ITV) with this high definition satellite receiver. Stores up to 4000 channels. USB socket to enable recording to USB storage device (storage device not included).

Kit comprises:

Remote control
45cm diameter satellite dish
Dish wall fixings
LNB with weatherboot
10m satellite cable
1m nickel plated HDMI cable
LED satellite finder compass

This seems to be a good deal as my Freesat box alone cost over £120

Would've got one but I already have a Fox SAT system

i have bought HD one as well from B&Q for £69 last week! but this one from Aldi is good too:thumbsup:

As Hardawan says, Cheaper in B&Q.

Also bear in mind that though it may say 1080, no HD in the UK is broadcast at 1080p (maximum currently is 720p IIRC).

Also, it looks as if this isn't 'Freesat' as such - you can pick up the free satellite channels, including the HD ones, but you don't get the general UI interface that 'Freesat' marked boxes have, nor do you get iPlayer / 4oD etc that you can get / will get with Freesat.

If you're after the cheapest way to get BBC and ITV in HD, this (or rather the cheaper B&Q version of this) is a great deal. If you're after a more polished Freesat option, you can get a dish for about £30 (Play.com etc.) and a Bush box from Argos for £68. You wouldn't get the recording to USB option, but it would be genuine Freesat.

Why would you need more dishes:

Yeah ,thats fine for the purpose but your still on 1 satellite .
I have a 60cm on [email protected] , a 60cm on [email protected] and the 1m motorised is currently on [email protected]*W
The multi dishes save's the motorised from moving East & West every half hour or so , 2 are connected by DiSEqC ,so the pictures are instant .

You said you had 2 fixed dishes!
So turn one of them into a motorised dish. Or use multiple separate LNBs with a fixed dish to give more than one satellite from the one dish, then you will have space for another dish to do something you want to else with.

I can't get line of sight to much at home, (even Sky for pat of the year due to trees that aren't mine!) but when away caravanning, I hunt around, and to be honest it's fine for larking around, but my German, Polish & Turkish isn't good enough to justify wanting such extensive coverage all the time, and certainly not to many TVs at the same time! I find a main, and a bedroom media PC with internet connection provides me with more extra programming than I can watch in one lifetime!

I could get rid of my dish on Astra1 , there's not much on that one now ,but that's the first dish I started with in the days of d2-mac and analogue. I'm on to my third motor for my motorised system at the back of the house .Living so close to the North Sea it gets hammered with the weather and the salty air . I used to move it between hispatsat and hotbird but it seems to like Thor . My last dish is for Sky FTA but with a double or quad would also get me Freesat .
Decisions ,Decisions !

The ? intimates that they were instore Haverfordwest but may not be in your local store because when I went on the Aldi site it didn't show them as 'hurry while stock lasts' and I had to Google to find the link I put up which was for last Thursday
