Picked one of these up and its ace. The user interface is good, it is easily programmable and i managed to set it up for all of my devices! It may show as £9.99, but get it scanned and it will come to £6.49 on the till.

I got a Tevion remote like this about 6 months ago and it's good and easy to use.
Except it doesn't control the Tevion Lcd Tv lol
#3
I'm impressed if it does macros for £6.49!
#4
I have a tevion universal remote - not this model - and it's excellent. Easy to set up, learning function works extremely well, etc. It's much better that one I paid a lot more cash (x5) for.

Does this work with Sky+?
#6
Bought one last time and had to take it back as it would not work with Sky.
#7
Got a very similar one here I bought from Aldi a couple of years back for £4.99.
Not a bad remote for the price, but a bit big.

Must have been a different model, not this one.
I don't know about Sky+, but works fine with a standard Sky box.

Codes - try 010 or 162
(203 might be the one for Sky+)
#10
any idea if it works with the V+ box from Virgin ?

Yes I have Sky+. Can't remember whats codes I tried now....

Does it work like the overpriced Logitech Harmony remote where you can customise it so it switches on only the necessary devices based on what you want to do/watch?
#13
Don't look good for SKY+ - Just found this post on the skyuser website

There is a pretty sneaky looking remote control in Aldi at the moment. it has a light up touch screen.

DO NOT BUY IT IT WILL NOT OPERATE SKY PLUS OR THE HD BOX. It is supposed to have learning capability, but its hopeless as it wont operate record. Spent ages trying to program it, spoke to the helpline too to no avail . The coloured buttons also have dual usage which really complicates matters.

You have been warned.
#14
I took one of these back because it wouldn't work with Sky+ a few months back. It worked some of the functions but not all as I recall.
The helpline guy told me I'd have to ring Sky. Yeah, sure. "Hello I've bought a remote that doesn't work with your receiver, can you fix it?". They might as well tell people to call the police.

There's always a chance they've upgraded their codes since then I suppose.
#15
Is it actually a "touch screen" or just a surface with the buttons printed on it? Because if the latter, it's the worst of both worlds: the labels can't change, and there's no tactile feedback for where the buttons are.
#16
Picked up one last time round. Incredible value compared to others on the market. Still going strong on my 5 devices - inlcuding Sky+HD. You can always teach it keys manually if it doesn't recognize your device.

Hard to believe it's a tenth the price of Harmony, Pronto etc but does all the same things including learning and macros.

Don't see why? I got this last time and it works fine with my Pace Sky box. It's not in the fast codes but is in the model codes if I remember right.

Mine does all the normal Sky buttons. The only gripe I have is the back light only comes on when you push a button so you end up changing settings just to get the light on! The backlight does not stay on long enough also.

But it still looks nice and works perfect.

I think people are giving this offer an unnecessary hard time, look at the price guys, its amazing! People who are moaning about the Sky+ thing, just teach the remote manually, you do not need codes for every unit. Its Simple to do. This is amazing value for money, esp when you look at how much these remotes cost from the more expensive brands..........
#19
Does it support Vista Media Center ?
#20
HAd one of these and although it had a learning function the memory was way too small to remember codes for all equipment. Soif the codes aren't in the manual and you have to program them yourself it may not have the capacity.
#21
Has noone here seen the film Click?

It will control and probably ruin your life. Don't do it. And for this reason - cold.
#22
Why can't I see this on the Aldi website?
Is it a special that's been and gone?
#23
I have one of these working Sky+ no probs (have to teach it)

Only thing is the channel buttons are a bit clicky and hard compared to the original sky+ remote and you have to give some some functions to random buttons if it does not have anything to suite (e.g. making my amplifier change input from xbox to PS3 etc)

Still at this price its good!!

It does... I have one...

Does this work with Sky+?

Yes! Set it up for Sky standard (normal sky) (Forget which code I used) and they set the record/play/fwd/rwd buttons manually using your Sky+ remote... (point the Sky+ remote at this remote while programming - Using the learn function)
Worked perfectly for me.
Had full control of Sky+ using this!

It does work with Sky, Sky+ and Sky HD. read above!

Also... It controls Xbox 360s using the PC function (just press PC - No programming needed!) ;-)

My only annoyance with this remote is the beep function... once you've turned it on it won't turn off!
#25
just been in my local aldi in trentham and there was no sign of these....
#26
what are macro's?

i didn't have any problems switching the beeps off...

A macro is where you press a single button and more than one action takes place i.e. Tv comes on and switches to AV channel, Amp comes on and switches to input 1, Sky box comes on

that sounds good! is this remote capable of doing that??
#29
I had an earlier one which didn't have enough keys (the cursor keys were the most noticeable omission); maybe I'll buy this.
#30
has anyone besides the poster managed to bag one yet?
#31
None at my local in Hatfield.

Staff confirmed that they did have quite a few in the cabinets next to the till but all went quick apparently.

Sorry I don’t know. I don’t have one of these, I have a Harmony.

Just had a look in the manual and it does!

CR4P!:x None available in local Aldi Stores and was told that they have not seen them for a long time
#35
got one of these in the washington aldi branch, but was £9.99 not £6.49 as stated so must of been store specific but still worth it for this price....
#36
I got one last night from Blaby, Leics following reading this post - it was the last one, £6.99.

Must say it's a great remote. Having trouble finding a code for my Humax PVR9300T though, it seems I will have to do this one through the learning method.
#37
I will try the Glasgow High Street store this evening, sounds too good to miss at this price

I didn't know you had a Humax, when did you get that?
