"INPUT MS card, SD card, MMC card, USB storage device"

Will this mean it can read photos directly from a USB pen?
#3
Thanks airey :)

Store collection is limited to 12 stores UK wide. Delivery is ~ £5
#4
Yes you will be able view photos directly off a USB flash drive airey. You'll probably need to do some cropping/resizing in a photo editing package first. As it's a widescreen display photos straight off your camera will display with black bars either side.

If this plays videos, would it be possible to hook up some system to use it as a small monitor? I never seen one of these things in the flesh before, so some middleware solution could surely mean it's possible to play say... a console through these?

Depends on wether it has any av inputs. By the looks of it, av connections are outputs. I'm guessing that these are maybe for adding external speakers.

Thats a great buy spec wise. Not sure if its good tho without testing it.
I paid £100 for the Philips because I wanted the 720 x 480 resolution
#8
I saw this same one in my local asda on Saturday, same price.
#9
Just picked one up from Asda for £49.95.
Had to go to the in store photo shop to get it.

Noticed this on a Poster in Argos today. They are recalling all stock of this model due to a problem with the cable near the plug which can leave live wires exposed and able to be touched. Might be worth considering before you buy this model! The poster said all models.

Are you sure this is the same model as the Tesco one? The picture on the argos website looks different.

Different item. Texet now have 2 new 7" screens. I wanted the better one, which has an alarm clock built in, so I could replace the clock with this in the bedroom and save space. Havent found it anywhere yet tho.

Had two of these delivered yesterday and took them both back to Tesco last night. The quality was awful. Cheap plastic frame, poor clarity of image and viewing angle and funny uneven black borders on the two sides.

Not recommended at all.
#14
I've never seen a good quality digital picture frame. They all have low resolution,
poor scaling and/or poor viewing angles and brightness.

Do any exist with decent screens at all?
#15
Thanks airey for OP & cook!e for the reminder :)

Not bought one but checked it out instore and it looks very cheap and nasty if you are looking for the same resloution which I think is a must as anything lower looks awful check out the memento frame at pcworld it has the good looks and features including wireless link to your pc and is worth the extra investment. We bought one last weekend for a friends engagement and presented it with the photos of the night and all the techies from the I.T department wanted one.

Thanks for the info

The Texet 7inch frame shown and discussed earlier is actually 480x234 resolution, NOT 720x480 resolution. I bought two from TescoDirect (which claimed 720x480). I tried one and it was appallingly bad, checked the documentation which stated clearly that the resolution was 480x234. I took them back, was refunded my payment, asked the staff to update Tesco's site - but nothing has changed.:-(

Edited ... previous post has just turned up.

Can see both of your posts!

Welcome to HUKD!

Thanks for the info regarding resolution, this is quite an old post so not sure if it's available anymore anyway.

I have This One and it is excellent. Great viewing angles, superb resolution and supports most of the main storage-card formats. Fairly expensive (with no extra 'gimmicks', such as MP3 or movie playback), but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended!
