"Postage is bizarrely only £4.95"

I hope they don't just pop it into a Jiffy Bag! :)

Nice find though, the in-laws have the same TV (paid £2200 for it a few months back). It's a really nice set, very stylish, the SD card slot is very useful for showing family photos!:lazy:

Beautiful TV - shame it's 3 times the price of my car... (!)

Welcome to HUKD Tom, thanks for your first post.

I was wondering were they 2 different models though, as the one in the first post is TH42PX600CAB the and the one in yours is the TH42PX60, there's an extra zero on the end there... ?

Basically the PX600 is the newer version of the PX60. They both have an identical screen, but the sound is better on the PX600 and it looks slightly different. I dont think the PX60 has the SD card slot either.

The PX600 is a new model.

see here..

It looks like the picture on the Robert Dyas Website is the old PX60 model.

I have the TH42PX60 and have to say it's the best money I have ever spent! So if you're hesitating about this television then just buy it, because you will not regret it :-D

Also if you're budget doesn't fit the 600 model, then get the 60 as the differences are minor (You can buy the 60 + Surround sound cheaper etc) but it's up to you if you think it is worth the extra few 100's

Can i just clear some things here :

The PX60 is the older model

The PX600 is the newer model better spec including Picture in Picture ,SD card reader and Better Speaker system etc etc ,also slighlty better looking than the PX 60 IMHO

Can i just add that both sets have the same version 9 panel .

Found the 600 version cheaper:

http://www.audiovisual123.co.uk/cube/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=76

£899

Not sure on delivery.

Never used this site before and have asked on another section of this site if anyone else has but the price is very cheap I must say.

Thanks :giggle:

I sent a email in the contact us area of the site asking a few questions so should hear back tommorow fingers crossed, I just wanted to know if it was a reputable site because I put a set through the checkout and registered my details but the payment area seemed strange it didnt let me enter any payment details just to confirm my order and also there was no secure lock on the bottom right so I left it at that.

Do you think that you have to do the orders by ringing them up and speaking to a representative online. Quite confusing really :-(

Regarding the reference above to the offer being available cheaper....

"Found the 600 version cheaper:

http://www.audiovisual123.co.uk/cube...d&productId=76

£899"

have a look on MSE regarding a scam

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=270069

This has all the characteristics of that scam including the domain name only being registered on 4 September 2006!

"Buyer Beware"

Thanks for the warning mate. I was going to order the Toshiba 27" because it was only £339 but now I will order a set from a more reputable retailer.
#22
And more experiences and background on the scam is available on AV Forums

Hope This Helps

I have the 42PX60CAB and it's brilliant (cost me £1205 about 3 months ago) but I really don't think it's worth paying an extra £300+ quid just for an SD card reader and some speakers nobody would ever use! Get the PX60, it's a much better bargain!

Petew its not just a card reader you can record onto the sd card like a dvd recorder and play slideshows of holiday photo`s , also the speakers are far far superiour than the px60 with a thinner glass panel 35% helps towards reflections.

Also Picture in Picture is a must can`t beat watching sport and coranation street at same time im happy the wifes happy.

The cabinet is made better as well imho so for £300 its worth every extra penny.

PS Where did you get your 42PX60CAB for £1205?

I guess it's a matter of opinion, I have a proper 6.1 surround sounds setup so don't use the speakers, have a Media Center for photos (and more) and use a PVR anyway, so the SD slot wouldn't be much use for me. From what I've seen there's no real difference in the cab other than its a slightly different size. Didn't realise the glass was thinner, I thought they were the same.
I agree that the 600 is the better set, I just think that in my opinion the 60 represents a much better deal, which is what this forum is all about

I got my PX60 from Dixons using various vouchers and 10% egg instant cashback a few months ago. It was posted on here at £1221 I think, but I managed to get Dixons to refund a bit more as they reduced the price between me ordering and them delivering it.

This can be had in pedestal form for £1191 delivered or £1201 on a floorstand delivered , using freely available codes & cashback sites .
