The numerous 1.2m cables I've bought from Amazon over the last couple of years for £1 each are still working perfectly.
And the 10m cable I bought from eBay for £7.99 is also still working perfectly.

I see no sense in paying more, therefore I vote cold.

This thread should be a lesson to posters.

If your is thread is rated cold, unjustly or not, if you come on to the thread and argue the toss it is just going to get colder. Walk away, nobody will even care in half an hour when it is off the front page.

Dont assume that people actually care about their deals getting hot. Its not like we are on commission here!

Well first of all many do care. How many posters have you seen begging people not to cold vote or lamenting cold voters in the thread.

Also, if you don't care then even more reason not to argue the toss, round and round in circles, on your own deal thread.

Thanks it is a good link

Cheap proves cheerful for HDMI leads

When Which? lab tested the following HDMI leads, the cheapest lead proved just as good as the most expensive:
A £10 Tesco Value HDMI lead
A £20 John Lewis HDMI lead
A £100 Belkin HDMI lead

The cheapest cable they tested was from tesco. As it was a national retailer, it would have been a certified cable and manufactured with integrity. Therefore, much like the one in this deal (except my deal is cheaper)

My main issue is with £1 rubbish on amazon which does not seem to be made or tested properly.

Not fussed about the advantages of belkin and monster cables tbh (that is another battle so to speak). The radicals would have you think otherwise. The cable in this deal does share some of the features of these more expensive cables but not the price.

Are you claiming that Tesco has never sold anything that wasn`t quite what it seemed? Bought something cheaply and maybe not checked the claimed certification themselves? Unless you`re prepared to accept that Tesco can do no wrong, then you have to accept that the Tesco cable will have been identical to a £1 cheapo job.

Not interested in discussing how awesome tesco is nor I am interested in your logic linking "Tesco's corporporate integrity" to the "integrity of a £1 HDMI cable bought from amazon-maketplace". The other posters "against" me have said some quite sensible and insightful things based on experience and knowledge. Your posts are just bizzare and weakens the viewpoint you are trying to support.

In other words, you do think that Tesco can do no wrong.

What do you want to hear exactly?:

Ideally I would like no more HDMI cables posted as deals again.
If HDMI cables must be posted:
I want them evaluated based on quality and not just length versus price
I dont want them to be voted hottest deal of the weak for a 10p reduction
I don't want a barrage of insults thown at me for expressing my legitimate concerns for picture quality.
From you specifically, FattyUK, I dont want you turning up in every contraversial thread stokeing the fire in topics that you clearly are not really interested in (be honest).

I also want to know why people bother reading comments on HDMI cables and reacting to them? It seems quite easy to notch up 100 comments in a thread reacting to my single comment about picture quality. Surely there are more exciting deals or comments on here.

I genuinely do sympathise with you. It takes a brave man to post a deal for an HDMI cable that costs more than £1.50 delivered, and have to say that I agree with most of your points here. We don't need an Amazon special listed every time they drop a few pence. Build quality SHOULD be given more consideration, but unfortunately it's often not possible to know how well these things are made until someone actually receives one, by which time the thread activity is but a distant memory.

This though... you kidding me? Stop talking like a madman... how can you possibly think there are more exciting deals or comments than you find here. X)

P.S. After the monstrosity that was the Touchpad thread (maybe you missed it, I don't know), it's kind of nice to actually have a thread where polite, considered disagreements can actually be followed. :D
