WOW, GREAT PRICE! Thanks so much!:)

No worries, will be driving up on the day, can't wait, just hope it goes the full 5 days.
#3
Great find, bit of a gamble, but the way the series is panning out I think the game will go to a 5th day and could be a cracker!

Website is down, but there is a phone number 0870 062 1902

Cheers for that, booked and ready to go

i managed to get on the site, just kept refreshing. Got the tickets and you can print them off your own printer aswell. Great find heat and rep given.
#6
that was a tough one... the site is struggling! Have they always been available?
#7
Went on sale Monday, got mine yesterday, the site was far worse than, was on hold for over an hour. Well worth the wait though.
Anyone going I'm in the Raglan stand section 4, will have a Freddy mask on (well cut out from the bbc http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/get_involved/4466868.stm ) come say hi

They say non-refundable. Does that mean if it doesn't got to day 5, you lose your money? Seems a bit harsh!
#9
Cold for me - no guarantee it will go to the final day and I believe no refund if it doesn't get that far...

(Would be hot if it could be guaranteed but it's a £15 gamble)

Cold from me then I'm afriad. Great if it goes the distance, but not worth the gamble.

this is good deal.

Some bookmakers offer odds on what day the test will finish.
There's probably a way to use that to your advantage to reduce any possible losses if it ends early.

I was just about to ask exactly the same question, if that is the case then it's hardly a good deal.

It may only be £15 but I wouldn't buy a game or DVD for that price if the small print read that I'd still be debitted the full amount even if they were unable to fulfill the order.
#15
Having said all of this, I think there's a very very good chance this will go to day five, as the pitch is supposedly very flat at Edgbaston.
#16
It's a shocking deal. There's no way that I'd gamble £15 for a chance of seeing some cricket.

Sport in this country is a rip-off. It's just a shame that there are enough mugs to support it.
#17
this is the price they usually charge for the 5th day as you are not guaranteed its not over and you get nothing

no deal here

I wouldn't say shocking.

If you can't guarantee play, what do you do?

Wait until the fourth day then put all tickets on sale on the night, leading to massive queues and half-full grounds?

Or do you put an amount on sale at a smaller price, allowing people who are prepared to take the gamble a chance to see the end of the test?

A tenner on the gate, like the Old Trafford match in 2005 that I went to.

Day 5 of a Test Match, why not wait to see if it goes to Day 5, and then buy the ticket on the actual morning, rather than a pre paid non refundable one? If you are intend on buying a Day5 ticket, you are more than likely just a short trip from the ground and much better off going to the ground early in the morning as it wont be sold out until well into the morning

Give everyone who went to the 4th day, the 5th day for free.

Althought that has literally not happened in years.

Well I'm fairly certain there will be some on the gate - the point is though, it's not a shocking deal. It's the way it's worked for years.
#23
For those that do think it's a good deal they're still selling tickets for day 5 of the 4th test at Headingley for £20 (£5 for kids). All 5 days for the final test at the Oval are sold out and have been for many months.

They still sometimes do that during test matches when the 4th day is a total wash out, they know that they can get away with more and mess the fans around when it comes to the Ashes.

I went there aswell that day and it was complete chaos. Plus 4 years ago so £15 is a bargain especially when usual tickets are £75. Even the 20/20 international games at old trafford are £45 quid now. Well worth a punt.

what do u mean 5th day tickets are usually £75?

never ever have they been that price and they never will
#29
how anyone can vote this cold is beyond me. Yeah its a gamble but if you're a cricket fan its a bloody brilliant buy!! If it does go onto the 5th day, its usually the last day thats the most exciting. I queued from 6am at old trafford in 2005 and didnt get in. Thanks for this OP!!!!!
#30
Its £15, well worth the risk. I went Lords and it was money very well spent. It's a risk but in all fairness £15 is nothing for what could possibly be a day you will never forget. Worst case scenario you loss £15, hardly much now is it.

Indeed. Its a bit of a gamble at £15, but if you wish to be sure of not losing out, buy the £15 tickets then go to Betfair and stick £2 on it finishing on day 1-3, £2 on it finishing day 4 morning and £2.50 on it finishing day 4 afternoon/evening. Total cost will be £24 and you will make a profit if it finishes before day 4 afternoon, break even if it finishes later on day 4 and get to see the match for £24 if it goes to a fifth day, at current odds. Of course it could finish really early on day 5 so it might be an expensive few overs!
#32
I think they really should make it a refundable ticket and possibly just charge a bit more to make it fair for everyone around.

Ticket prices for the cricket are a rip off in this country anyway, you'd probably get a whole test match for £75 in Oz and I know this wont be popular, but I'm going for the Aussies.
