Ahead of Apple's planned announcement scheduled for about half an hour from now that has been expected to see content from The Beatles finally come to the iTunes Store, that content has already gone live. The offerings are headed by The Beatles Box Set, offering a total of 256 songs and other items, including iTunes LP mini-documentary features and a video of the band's first U.S. concert, all for £125.00.

Individual albums featuring enhanced iTunes LP content are also available, with the majority of them priced at £10.99 and a few others including "The White Album" and several greatest hits collections available. Songs are generally also available on a per-track basis priced at £0.99 each.

This is what people were waiting for, me personally nope :(
Seriously, why even bother posting this? Fail.
Beatles fans, this has never been allowed on itunes
lol, he expected some serious heat from us lot, take yourself back into a cave with this deal, horrid
Voted hot - greatest back catalogue in history.
This should be hot, due to Apple announcing this after years of trying to get them to work together.
seems strange apple calling it a box set, implies something physical

I would never buy anything but a misprice from itunes. I sometimes wonder if the reason they make such a hash of itunes software is to make people buy music from them. Wazzacks!

No vote as cold would be unfair as it's personal opinion. But why anyone would do this and not buy "real" records and rip them (apart from the software issue stated) is beyond me!

And breathe...

£125 and the boxset doesn't even come with a box. Cold from me. :-)

Amazing for anyone who likes the Beatles but has been in prison since 1990 and only got released yesterday. Might be of particular value if you are allergic to CDs as well.
Isn't this just an announcement? I don't see where the "deal" is?

you can only play itunes on an ipod, right?

I'm not sure if you're aware but this has several advantages:

- Lower quality audio
- More expensive
- Restrictive DRM
- Only plays on apple products
- Can't be lent to friends
