This brings back some memories! Nice 2 disc set with collectors booklet for 4 quid! Next nearest price I can find is £18 at Amazon.

The ultimate classic wrestling DVD for nostalgia sport enthusiasts!

For armchair sports fans in the 1970s and 1980s, four o'clock on Saturday afternoon meant one thing - professional wrestling!
Dickie Davies would sit at his desk and introduce an hour of some of the best entertainment this country had ever seen. Frank Sinatra thought the British had some of the finest participants...Margaret Thatcher was a regular viewer... not mention the Duke of Edinburgh having front row tickets at the Royal Albert Hall... remember?

Tales of fantastic bouts, as well as the best of the best from a classic era of television will be found on this cracking double disc box set.

Features:-
World Of Sport booklet
Clashes of the Titans (fights between 'A-listers')
Forgotten heroes
Tagmania

Great memories! Is that Rollerball Rocco and Les Kellett on the bottom centre and right? Not sure about bigfoot on the left though :)

A colleague and I were only talking about this yesterday. Who could forget Kent Walton's commentary. Or Adrian Street, the big poof! Or Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks, Kendo Nagasaki and Jackie Pallo. Saturday afternoons just don't seem the same without a quarter of Merry Maid toffees and the wrestling. :-D

Anyone remember that documentary, I think it was an Arena one in the 80s about Kendo Nagasaki? bizzare but strangely watchable.

Btw Grandad and I used to have Mackesons whilst we watched the wrestling when I was a lad. I found out at his funeral from my cousin that for the girls he added orange cordial (unwatered down) to the Mackesons. Bring back those days!!

I saw that one.

I own this set. I can't say I like it at all. An unwise impulse purchase. Seeing Fit Finlay and Rollerball Rocco was great, but far too little of them on the set. Did Dynamite Kid, Davey Boy Smith or Steven Regal make it on? I got bored and stopped watching after seeing a horrible Giant Haystacks handicap match.

Ordered many thanks

yes, the dynamite kid, davey boy smith and steven regal all did great with the wwfv now wwe. davey boy smith aka the british bulldog did the best and was a huge star and earning in excsess of $80,000 a week but sadly died a few years ago . read he was seriously in to recreational drugs .

I meant the ITV DVD rather than their Stateside careers.

if you like this, youd be better off just watching sky channel 427 which is the wrestling channel, as they show episodes of World Of Sport everday - its awful stuff though, loved it as a kid but compared to the US stuff, it just looks very sad.
