Description

The Butterfly Effect - Evan Trehorn (Ashton Kutcher) is a college student who has suffered from blackouts and memory loss since he was a child. Tormented by deeply repressed childhood memories he has visions of his best friend and first love Kayleigh (Amy Smart) as a child (Irene Gorovaia) whose Dad (Eric Stoltz) is a child molester and whose brother Tommy has a serious sadistic streak. In search of greater clarity Evan pores over his journals and is physically transported back in time where he is still a young boy and has the ability to change what happened.

The Butterfly Effect 2 - After his girlfriend, Julie (Erica Durance Smallville), and two best friends are killed in a tragic car accident, Nick (Eric Lively The 'L' Word, American Pie) struggles to cope with his loss and grief. Suffering from migraine-like seizures, Nick soon discovers that he has the power to change the past via his memories. However, his time-traveling attempts to alter the past and save his one true love have unexpected and dire consequences in the present.

The Butterfly Effect 3: Revelations - After discovering that he has the ability to travel back and forth through time, Sam Reed (Chris Carmack) becomes a law-enforcement affiliate who aids the police by using his skills to identify killers. Theres one golden rule of his practice: whether on purpose or by accident, dont alter, interfere, or interact with anyone, as the results could change the future forever. Reed breaks that rule in an attempt to help his murdered girlfriends sister find the perpetrator. But with each attempt to fix what hes altered, he only finds himself in a deeper mess.

Good price although it seems that the 1st one only has the theatrical version and not the directors cut.

No, I would want the DC version as better imo, but both would be ideal.

yes, they are both complete rubbish.

The 2nd and 3rd are ok, but not comparable to the 1st one.
#7
The 2nd one is only passable as it has Erica Durance in it. She makes anything watchable.

It's a so-so movie plus two TV movies. Overpriced.

Loved the first movie & never seen the sequels but will wait for the first movie to be released by itself, Great find by the way.

Never even knew there were 2 others, so they are probably as bad as the Cruel Intentions sequels.

I wouldn't even recommend the first one. It forgets its own central concept- the film is meant to based around the theory that something as unimportant as a butterfly flapping its wings will effect everything. The film follows this, but then abandons it when Kutcher is in prison. He needs to prove to the gringo in jail that he can go back into his past. So he duly travels back and he stabs his hands on the pencils in school. Now (ignoring the fact that pencils wouldn't cause any visible damage beyond a scab) the camera cuts back to Ashton in prison, with scars on his hands. But hang on, surely if Kutcher had stabbed himself to the extent of scarring he would have been rushed to hospital and his whole life would have changed as a consequence- so in turn he would not be in prison but should instead wake up in a different place (like the rest of the film). His parents would have had to leave work for the day, so this would impact on other people and so the butterfly effect (of Ashton cutting his hands) would change everything.

The graphic on the dvd reads "change one thing...change everything" but they mustn't have seen this stupid scene which completely goes against what they were trying to achieve.

Might have been nice to have started your post with POSSIBLE SPOILERS just in case some one reading your post hadn't watched the film

Only seen the first - very overrated movie. Good idea, poor execution.

I got this trilogy on blu ray when it first came out for £14.99. The first film is one of my favourites of all time, but note you only get one ending on this blu ray as they put two films on one disc. So anyone hoping to see all the alternate endings may be disappointed. The second film is worth seeing once, but nowhere near as good as the first one in my opinion. The third one isn't as good as the first, but is considerably better than the second.

Hot.

Liked the 1st a lot. One of my fav films. The rest don't appeal. Will wait til the 1st is out for £5 and then buy.
