Given the number of posts about ipods and the amount that will get bought for pressies this Christmas, I thought I'd start a cheapest ipod thread (if the mods don't mind!)

I'll kick off with Boots which seem to be the best so far as longs as you have an Advantage points card and use Quidco:

After 10% off code (BFTF29), Advantage Points and quidco cashback you get:

1gb Shuffle - £39.68
2gb Nano - £71.43
4gb Nano - £93.07
8gb Nano - £121.93
30gb iPod - £136.36
80gb iPod - £186.87

The only problem I can find so far is that they are currently out of stock of black 80gb ipods'

Nice One! Only trouble is that you wont be able to edit the OP. So you will need to get a Mod to help you.

Brilliant post, although I would take Quidco out of the price and just put + quidco discount instead. Not everyone likes it, and there's the time to gt money back, etc
#3
Bit naughty isnt it quoting prices with Quidco discount taken off AND even naughtier taking Advantage points money equivalent off!!!!

With Quidco the 4gb Black Ipod i posted up yesterday works out the same and its free delivery too..and no advantage points to worry about too!!
#4
Thank for the post Repo :)

Quidco isnt always guaranteed hence its better to avoid including cashback discount in the final price. You can mention it separately.

Should the main Price on the listing read a higher price then if Quidco discount isnt allowed to be taken off the main figure??

The whole point of thread was to get them as cheap as possible, including any discounts, cashbacks (except cc ones). Boots have always tracked 100% for me with quidco too as have the Advantage points. hence the:

Plus I never shop in Boots so getting points is no good for me.
#8
If this thread is getting such a cold response can people post the prices they have got for ipods?
#9
Quidco often doesn't work for me with Boots - especially on my last order which was for £422 which was annoying to say the least.
#10
Good post Repo much better than half the nonsense that is appearing on here these days.

Im sure many people will find it very useful thread.

I think it's a good thread too Repo. I think some people are voting miffed about the Quidco bit. Maybe it would be good to have with points/cashback etc and without options.
#12
Just a minor point - some shops are still flogging the old version Nano. (I think the Boots one is the latest version)
#13
Yeap... problem is Repo can't edit the OP. If Repo can PM a MOD with the prices (excluding Quidco & Boots points), OP can be amended.
#14
any updates on good deals available?
#15
If you're desperate for a black 80gb from boots. Buy a white one online and then swap in store! ;)
#16
80GB Apple iPod Video in black is only £219.99 from Dabs.com plus remember Quidco for extra 3% off. Not a bad price if no interest in Boots advantage points!

Black Ipod 80gb is back in stock at Boots

Repo

Not sure how you arrive at your £186 figure for the 80GB iPod from Boots? :?

I make it £259.99 less 10% (using discount code) which is £233.99, then you'll be awarded triple advantage points worth £28.08 plus 3% back from Quidco (£7.02) making a total net amount of £198.89

What am I missing or has the price recently gone up since you started this thread?

I see what you mean cheekster

cheekster,

I think the quidco cashback from boots was 6.5% last time I looked. which would give a bit more but it looks like the discounts have been calculated based on the £260 original price not the actual £234 which you'd pay and the advantage points and quidco would be based on the lower amount.

I'm getting really confused now. :-(

The prices were correct when I posted them as I double checked the prices by going to the checkout with every ipod. e.g.

Black 80gb ipod
List price £259.00
less 10% £233.10
less 3108 advantage points £202.02
less 6.5% quidco (£15.15) = £186.87

The deals changed sometimes last week but I couldn't edit my original post and after the naysayers dumped on the thread I couldn't be arsed anyway. The deals did change last week and they worked out more expensive but they seem to have gone back again! The following is a screenshot of my basket from a few mins ago. The ipod and code was added fresh, so no lingering basket phenomenon:

thanks for the simple, clear explanation! :-)

Thanks OP, bought a 4gb nano for £19 more than a 2gb! My boyfriend will be a happy bunny this Xmas and I just made it in time for the £15 + advantage points to spend at the sales!
#25
Thank you so much ma man. Just bagged a lovelly 80GB iPod video in shiny black for the pricey sum of £186.87 delivered (well it works out to have cost that after taking into consideration advantage points and quidco cashback, hehe).

4gb pink at boots for £116.10 with voucher and got £7.55 tracked with quidco. when I ordered it (for a mate) it was the best deal I could find in pink...they were happy to get it for just over £116....I get the quidco..eventually :P
#27
cheers, finally purchased one yesterday, 80gb ipod video in white. Wonder how long it'll be before I can get my hands on it! :-P
#28
Any new ofers on ipod nano' sor speaker/doscking stations?

Cheers
#29
Dabs at 219 is a good price but its marked as "On order, delivery delayed", so probably wont be delivered until '07 now. Makes me wonder, last time some suppliers dropped the prices a bit and had no stock for a while, a new model was announced shortly after (definitely after xmas of course).

The best price without using any cashback or points systems is currently currys.
Sale at present with 10% off and using a 10% off code would be £209.

Unfortunately they have removed all home delivery of ipods for the moment, and voucher codes cannot be used for reserve & collect. Shame...
