Either you are totally crazy, or I am, as this is my favorite PS3 game.

I bought a PS3 with about 12 games, including GTA4, Warhawk, Ratchet and Clank etc.

The only game that gets played is this one.

Try playing an online team death match in the prison grounds then see if you can continue to say that. Absolutely superb fun.

£8 for this is a bargain if you have online capabilities with your PS3.

(Trust me I am not being sarcastic, this is easily my favorite game and definitely worth being in anyones collection that likes 3rd person shooters).

Guys this game is dire. I appreciate its a good price but its not worth any money really, i got a free promo copy as i have links with Sega and have only managed to put myself through 2 levels of this shit; its extremely archaic and cheesy, feels like a product of the early 90s and its extremely repetitive. I believe Bizarre was the developer which shocks me...they normally make decent games (pgr, geometry wars etc)...its just ****, buy something else cheap :)

Has Broadmoore recently allowed all its crazies internet access recently. :)

I think we will just have to agree to differ, the game for me is great and is definitely worth at least a try and its clearly a love it or hate it game.

Similar to PES 2009, many seem to hate it, others love it.

Excellent game, but ONLY if you're into old-school blasters, and are a high scores / combos fiend. If you want story / characters etc (why you'd want that in a *game*, I'm not sure - but fair enough), then move along as there's nothing for you here.

If you meet the criteria of the kind of person this game is for, then it's unmissable at this price.

I will concede that the multiplayer is very poor. But that's not what I wanted the game for anyway.

Played the demo and thought it was okay, for £8 you cant go wrong.

i have this on the 360, and I rate it as one of the best games on the system, possibly of all time. real "marmite" one this one, you either love it or hate it. I was brought up on old school shooters, so it could be a generation thing going on here. but for me, has the perfect "just one more go" draw. love it.
#14
Maybe all the marmite haters have either not played a multi-player game (either offline or online), or just don't like 90s cheese-frag-fests.

It's a damn sight better than the disappointing online experience of "John Woo presents Strangehold".

Since I got my PS3, I've missed the manic shooting style of games like Black on the PS2.

After watching Youtube videos of The Club's gameplay, it looked fun enough to punt £8

Ordered, heat added. Code didn't work for me though :x

I loved "Black" on the PS2 as well. My favourite shooter for that platform (even though no multi-player support was offered).

I'm hoping "Black 2" for the PS3 lives up to the strong first outing when it is released next year.

I can't wait, having now completed Uncharted Drakes Fortune 4 times, COD4 3 times and even Conan 3 times I am really struggling to find a new game.

I like games to have instant action, especially if I've only got 20 minutes to play, so I struggle with the 'wandering aimlessly' type of game (Far Cry 2, Orange Box, BioShock etc)

Was tempted to try the Fifa 09 deal, but although I like football (lifelong QPR supporter :whistling:), I've never got on with footy games (fiddly controls and repetitive gameplay)

Have you tried any games released in 2008? :)

I've never got on with football. Period.

If you have a PlayStation Network account, I can recommend "Pain" &/or "Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection (Online)". Both you can dip into for 20 minutes of gameplay.

I believe "WipEout HD" has a big fanbase, but it is not my kind of thing (as I struggle with the colourful design).

I'm also a big fan of "Burnout Paradise" (Blu-ray version, not downloadable version).
You can jump in & out of this as you wish, but you may think this is 'driving aimlessly' until you get familiar with the map layout.

Wait until the end of November & you'll have "Resistance 2" available in the UK, and "Killzone 2" in the first quarter of 2009. There's also "Resident Evil 5" on 13 March 2009 to look forward to as well.

Oh yes, and a title called "LittleBIGPlanet" tomorrow :)

Thanks for taking time to offer some useful advice. I've tried some 2008 games on demo only (Haze, Mirrors Edge and a few others etc) but nothing grabbed me.

Although I sometimes play F1 or Colin McRae online with the only mate I have that owns a PS3, he hates shooters so thats a no-go. I find that when I go online on COD3 or 4 I just get massacred every 15 seconds or so (I'm either really useless or other players are really good) so it gets boring. I think Tekken online might have the same problem (still love Tekken Tag Tournament on the PS2 though).

I have enjoyed Burnout(s) on the PS2 in the past but felt that after Takedown it went a bit manic (too fast, not enough time to see whats coming) so I have not bought Paradise (yet), and I have never enjoyed the handling on Wipeout (although I havent tried the new version)

I found Resistance a bit too hard so sold it on quickly, and I havent liked Res Evil either in the past. Hated Assassins Creed too.

I am hoping there is a demo for Little Big Planet, because I am not convinced of the concept yet (Is it sort of like Contraptions on acid?)

I may sound too difficult to please but once I find a game I like I just hammer it - Uncharted (my favourite PS3 game and in my top 5 of all time games I think), COD4, Conan, Tiger Woods, even Singstar.

Next tempting game for me is the new Call of Duty I guess, but The Club and Dark Sector with a combined cost of about £17 should keep me going for a while.
