Tend to use cider too - large joint in slow cooker for 6+ hours. Meat is so tender it melts in your mouth!

Can't go wrong with gammon, so heat added

So you put a couple of cans of cider in then sit the gammon in?

We roast ours- chuck the meat in a roasting tin, pour over a bottle of nice cider about 400ml (not white lightening!)

cover with foil and cook as normal - we tend to stab the meat up a bit with a knife, then baste with the cider as it cooks, the cider then gets into the stab holes and flavours it all.

its proper yummy!
