The title of THE COMPLETE STONE ROSES is not entirely accurate. The disc is one of the settlements resulting from the longstanding legal battles between the Manchester band and its former label, Silvertone Records. THE COMPLETE collects the singles from the Roses' classic first album, 1989's THE STONE ROSES, along with such excellent, pre-and-post-album singles as "Made of Stone" and the hypnotic nine-minute groove anthem "Fools Gold" and a handful of early recordings made in the mid-'80s with the late Martin Hannett. The latter are especially intriguing, making clear the previously hidden influence earlier Hannett-produced Manchester bands like New Order and A Certain Ratio had on the Stone Roses' more '60s-influenced and guitar-oriented sound. THE COMPLETE is an interesting compilation for fans and newcomers alike.

How much is it without the code please? Am I right in thinking you can only use the magic code once and seen as the code has been around for about 6 months most of us have already used it. Will probably get this without the code anyway. Thanks.

When are they going to reform for one big UK tour?

As said above , its £3, however I've managed to use the code more than once by using a different email address.

I'm a scouser and I loathe Manchester. The city looks disgusting, the people are bin-dippers with a desperate look on their face. Oasis are beyond awful with no redeeming features.
The Stone Roses are, however, awesome.

****! You could not damn the Roses much more than that.

Good price of course though the Complete Stone Roses has some irritating radio edits of the best tracks. (The half-length versions of Fools Gold and I Am The Resurrection are criminal!) If you can afford it go for the eponymous album plus 'Turns into Stone' - worth every penny.

Voted Hot.

Personally, I prefer Kasabian to the Stone Roses.

I remember being a raver (!) in 1989 and every one else (or so it seemed) was "Stone Roses this" and "Manchester that". Except me. I hated the whole baggy scene at the time (too busy "getting happy" in random fields at free raves around the South at the time...). Now, at 42 (and with a clear head), I can see the Roses for what they were, and really appreciate most of their stuff - although I prefer their 1996 comeback "Love Falls" and think Kasabian are the greatest live band around today.

So there.

Insta-fail! Plus 'Love Falls', by which I think you mean 'Love Spreads' was released november 1994

I think you must still be "getting happy" now

Anyone that starts their post saying they prefer Kasabian to The Stone Roses nullifies anything they'll ever write again after that.

So there.

as they used to say "calm down calm down"
