Good show BTW

Bargain!

I'm currently watching The Wire but have this ready once I'm done. Only trouble is it's takens me 6 months to watch two series' so I don't think I'll be getting round to this any time soon.

It's all about HBO. The Sopranos remains the best full TV series ever. The best of any type being Band of Brothers, also HBO.

HBO is the best. HBO for drama and BBC for documentaries. I think this wikipedia page says it all. Curb is on HBO too! This is an amazing price. It has 43 DVDs for £36!

I'd still say that the wire is better than the Sopranos in my opinion but both are excellent, also don't forget Deadwood anyone who was brought up watching Lovejoy might take a few episodes to get their head around Ian McShane in the role of Al Swearengen but it's definately worth sticking with.

Sopranos had one of the worst endings ever. HBO is usually guaranteed quality. They have the money to invest.

I downloaded this, and feel guilty having gotten so much enjoyment from it - I might well buy the box set to assuage that guilt.

Best thing ever to have been on my TV - by a mile. I like the Sopranos, enjoyed the first 3 series of the Wire (4 was rubbish, can't get into 5), but West Wing is the champ.

Got this for £40 last month.

Am half way through season 1 and can safely say, that along with the Sopranos, this is the best show around.
#9
People seem to think this is an HBO production, its actually Warner Brothers/NBC!
#10
Ordered. Coming to end of Sopranos and if this is half as good at half the price I'll be chuffed.

Cheers OP.

Scorchio!

Got various box sets coming out of my ears and no time to watch them but this is such a good deal I couldn't resist!

Now all I have to find is a cheap box set of Lost......

I've been watching this for the last month or so, and have to say my enjoyment is a bit mixed. Seasons one and two are superb. Fantastic viewing. Season three, I felt was pretty weak, with season four only lagging slightly behind the first two. Finally, season five (As far as I've gotten), is a bit of a mixed bag. Some very good episodes, a few 'merely' decent ones, and a couple I found to be **** poor.

Ultimately though, well worth this pitiful price.

How was it one of the worst? It left everything to the imagination, probably better than pissing off half the audience by having certain characters killed.

My favourite series of all time, loved every minute. The final few seasons do drop off at the end but will worth this money in my opinion. Absolute bargain
#15
coming out as £40.37 for me after adding code
#16
looks like they've just upped the price
#17
Mine just came out at £38.57 after the code. Looks like the price is all over the place! Still, this is a great price, so still hot. Don't forget you can get cashback from Quidco or TCB.
#18
Nice price - probably my fav american series. Top quality all round.
#19
yes i did quidco and got £2.42
#20
Xmas pressie for my dad sorted, cheers.

Many thanks for the heads up on this Box Set. I got the set for £38.57...which was well worth the price.

I am new to the site, and if anyone has ever seen Foyles War box set for sale cheaply, would you please PM me.

Many thanks to the Opening Poster and all who take the trouble to post bargains.

Code doesn't work for me? :(

Ok, got it now. OP might want to specifiy in description, that it is the TBOX10 code that gets the price down to £38.57
#24
guys, might sound like a silly question:
what format are the early series? On TV there were not wide-screen, just the normal 4:3
#25
Only £1.15 cashback at TCB. :-( From an earlier post it sounds like Quidco might be a better bet for this. Stonking deal anyway.
