Compared to what?

These guys keep messing with the release date!

I must stress that as yet I haven't played this, though I may do in the future...... but this does seem slightly overhyped for an average game, and reviews seem to support this. I don't buy this "great for a Wii game" either, because the Wii has plenty of great games.

Personally I'd wait until it was at least under £20, which it will be soon.

good call, i've just cancelled my pre-order. not that interested and don't appreciated being messed about because some language i don't need isn't done.

Looks great to me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80aPoLNInuc

Looks similar to Unreal Tournement, a little jaggy round the edges but quite smooth. A fun FPS for the Wii :-)

Which games would you consider great? I used metacritic for reference and couldn't find many at all to be honest..

House of Dead though fits the bill imo :-D

Well Official Nintendo Magazine gave it around 74%, Gamespot 6.0...so it would best to wait once it hits £20 or less (preferably £10)

Sorry? It has about 5 at max as far as I can tell, one of those was a launch title and effectively just a port of a Gamecube game.

This game would go completely un-noticed if it was on any other format, I've played it and whilst the online is OK the SP campaign seems like a crap hybrid of PD0, Halo and Metroid Prime.

The problem is that the Wii has such a crappy catalogue that this game was bound to stand out no matter what, and that's exactly what has happened.

Super Mario Galaxy
Metroid Prime 3
Zelda: Twilight Princess
World of Goo
Smash Bros Brawl
Resident Evil 4
Okami
Punchout
Umbrella Chronicles
De Blob
Zack & Wiki

Granted a couple of those are ports of old games, but still excellent nonetheless. IMO the Wii gets an unnecessary bad rep, when all its really missing is a good lineup of FPS games. Take away the FPS games from the PS3 and 360, and you take away half of their top titles, leaving them with a lineup not too dissimilar to the Wii.

you forgot No More Heroes, MadWorld, Little King's Story, Boom Blox, Mario Kart, i could go on.. the Wii has plenty of good games imho. i just don't think most of them are worth £30 (same for the other consoles).

I'm sorry but I just don't think that's true, I find it very hard to take the Wii seriously though.

I think as Crofteh said, if you were to take away all the shooters on other platforms, the other consoles would be in a similar boat to the Wii games wise, this gen seems to be all about the guns, which as a gamer for many years and platform games being a perticular favorite saddens me.
Anyway I got this ordered from game, £29.99 + Quidco + £10 off with my reward points + 600 points for pre ordering = less than £20, not applicable to everyone unlesss you have unused reward points I know but still.

I agree on the above  On the PS3 specially the only games i can think of are Metal gear, killzone, sf iv, uncharted, cod 4 (better on the pc, cos fps are meant to be played with mouse and keyboard) and  thats it i think.

People can't take the wii seriously cos its underpowered and its being different. I have to admit playing the mario games on the wii has made me realized what fun gaming can be. It's not always about graphics (like always thought along with the masses out there), its the effort that gets put in the gameplay that makes a game good.

Own a few of those. The Mario games are the best. Never been interested in the Resident Evil nonsense ;-)
Not seeing the fuss about Punchout but i'm willing to give it another chance. I've not played the originals so expected a fighting game which it isn't :-D
Zelda seems a bit too girly for me. Girlfriend is getting into it though.

Smash Bros Brawl is great. Metroid seems a bit boring on the first go i'll have to wait for it to get more interesting. Haven't tried/seen the others.

Still, that's not plenty. More like a big handful :-D Like you say though FPS games towards many of the other consoles better games.

Oh and I do love Boom Blox
