The Core:
After a geophysicist discovers that the Earth's inner core has stopped rotating, an elite team of specialists has one last chance to save the world-by journeying into the centre of the Earth!

Deep Impact:
Fourteen-year-old Leo Beiderman (Elijah Wood) did not expect to make an earth-shattering discovery when he joined his high school astronomy club. He didn't expect to make any discoveries at all; he simply hoped that classmate Sarah Hotchner (Leelee Sobieski) would discover him. Yet a photograph he takes through his small telescope makes him co-discoverer of Comet Wolf-Beiderman...a comet that scientists determine is on a fatal collision course with the Earth. What would you do if you knew that in a handful of days an enormous comet would collide with Earth and all humanity could be annihilated?

The Core is a dreadful film, however for the money this deal is worth if for Deep Impact alone!

I reckon they are both good films, I'd rate the Core is a better film than Deep Impact.....

Perhaps I was being a bit harsh on The Core (Hilary Swank is in it after all!). It does seem to get a lot of airplay (been on Film 4 a lot recently) whereas Deep Impact doesn't. I always rated Deep Impact ahead of Armageddon.
