Eric Draven (Brandon Lee) is killed with his fianc?on Devil's Night by a gang of dope-dealing thugs. A year after his death Draven is resurrected to wreak revenge on his killers in an awesomely athletic fashion. Star Brandon Lee was killed during the shooting of the film, which was completed using body doubles and state-of-the-art special effects.

Plus 4% quidco

Did'nt they have it on Blu-Ray in a 10 for £10 promotion or something a while back?
#5
great film got it on dvd and recently got it on blu ray for my husbands birthday voted hot

I dunno, I think this film is vastly overated and only gets acclaim because of the way the fella died on the set.

The girl is a druggie now too.

Curse of the Crow.

Just my opinion though, no need for the barrage of personal insults that are sure to fire my way. :whistling:

one of my fave films, not watched it for a while so think it's time to dust it off again.

Voted cold. This looks like the original release and not the updated version with extras and a new transfer in widescreen. This is fullscreen. Here's the good one - http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/110552/The-Crow-Special-Edition/Product.html

I only paid £3 for the special edition at GAME four years ago. The special edition also has the DTS soundtrack. Overall an overrated film though.

Funnily enough, YES it is! It comes with BOTH wide and full screen versions of the film!! LOL
Now, seriously, you have to take into account those (like me) that like having the best available version of a film. A quick check of DvdRewind shows the following features:

R2 SE United Kingdom - (Entertainment In Video)

Extras:
DISC ONE
* The Film - Widescreen Version (97:27)
Soundtracks: English DTS 5.1 and English Dolby Digital 5.1
Commentaries: Audio commentary with producer Jeff Most and screenwriter John Shirley.
Extras:
Deleted Footage (5:12)
Extended Scenes:
- The Arcade Bombing (4:00)
- Funboy Fight (2:03)
- The Shootout (5:01)

DISC TWO
* The Film - 4:3 Fullscreen Version [Open Matte] (97:19)
Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo
Extras:
"Making Of" - featurette (16:34)
"Profile of James O'Barr" - featurette (33:32)
Brandon Lee's Last Interview (6:01)
Poster Gallery Roll (1:35)
Production Design Gallery Roll (0:50)
Storyboards:
- The Arcade Bombing (0:45)
- Funboy's Last Stand (3:15)
- Liquor Store Robbery (1:06)
- Shootout at Top Dollar's (3:36)
- The Skull Cowboy (3:18)
16:9 vs. 4:3 comparison (2:03)
Aspect Ratio: 1.85:1
Picture Format:
Anamorphic
TV System: PAL
Case type: Amaray (Keep) Case
Notes: DTS audio track is Half Bitrate.

Compared to the one featured in this deal:

R2 United Kingdom - (Entertainment In Video)
Extras: "Making Of" - featurette including Brandon's Last On Camera Interview
Subtitles: English HoH
Aspect Ratio: 4:3
Picture Format: Non-Anamorphic
V System: PAL
Soundtrack(s):
English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo
Notes: This release has been cropped from its Original Aspect Ratio of 1.85:1

It's clear that an extra £3 is not much to ask for the best version. Note that there's a funny feature that shows the difference between the 4:3 version and the newly transferred widescreen version.

Thanks, just ordered as my VHS version is well past it. Uwish also have the special edition at 5.96, 6% Quidco.

Good find r&r - http://www.uwish.co.uk/details.cfm/ProductID/35822/Title/The%20Crow%20%3A%20Special%20Edition

That's the one to go for for better picture, sound and both copies of the film + all the extras.

Cold. Great film, but possibly the worst DVD release there has ever been. Awful picture, no digital soundtrack, nothing extra... and pan & scan? Rubbish. Buy the so called 'special edition', which does the film justice.
