I notice its called Platinum Collection and not greatest hits, probably due to it only being two tracks long if it was!!

Voted hot for the deal but always a bit of a c#ap joke band to me
#7
Platinum collection? They only made two albums ffs.
#8

:-D 'Platinum Collection'

i.e. Warner Music are trying to scrape as much money out of the Darkness as possible after the failure of the second album.

One trick pony I'm afraid. Was never going to last.

I know this is hot deals and not hot bands but voted cold cos they are a joke - not playing by the rules but I can't endorse this silliness! :p

i loved the darkness. i thought they were under-rated on the whole. I have no idea why people thought they were a one trick pony or a gimmick.

Their tracks were good. 2 SOLID albums. They are better than 90% of mainstream music out today. Was it Gary Jules who beat them to #1 that Christmas with his suicide-sounding track "Mad world". You cannot honestly say that is a good track, especially against Christmas Time..

seriously under-rated and i hope the original group get back together. they aren't as bad as people make out.

Not true really. This is the story "In August 2006, lead singer Justin Hawkins was admitted to a rehabilitation clinic in concern of his health, which caused the band to cancel several concerts. Around this same time the band confirmed that they were to start working on their third album to be released early 2007. However on 10 October 2006, The Sun newspaper reported that Justin Hawkins was leaving the band after completing his course of rehabilitation from alcohol and cocaine problems. The article, and ensuing rumours, stated that the band would continue without him, possibly with Richie Edwards as the front man. In response to the story being reported by the media, the following message was posted on The Darkness' official forum-

"We're sorry that you had to find this out through the newspapers, but we were hoping until the last minute that this - Justin's exit - wasn't going to happen. We - Dan, Ed and Richie - are still in total shock and can't say at this stage what the future holds. We would like to thank all our fans, partners and family for their continuous support. You will hear from us, once we know what we want to do..." and they became "The Stone Gods"
