The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (XBOX 360) - £20.24 (£18.84 after Quidco)

£20.24 @ The Hut
This seems to be the cheapest to buy this game at the moment. If anyone finds anything cheaper, let me know as i'm after this game!

Great game, at decent price. Just got this myself for £24.97 from tesco (but did have £20 voucher that I needed to get rid of)

hate to hit 'cold' as it is the worst game I've played (and I've played some stinkers) but it is cheaper than other 360 games - so just a warm. try it before you buy it, if you can Don. Very early (i.e poor) RPG dialogue and graphically 'flat'.

Really? I've been playing my mates copy and think its outstanding. The most in-depth game I think i've ever played with hours of playability. Also I was personally quite impressed by the landscapes. admitidly does take a while to get "into".

What's other peoples views?

It is the best game I have ever played, and I spent over 100 blissful hours playing it last year! Well possibly the command and conquer series on the PC were joint 1st place with Oblivion.

I couldn't disagree with tapi more!

:)

PS Voted hot!

You are talking out of your ****. This is an amazing RPG. Have racked up over 60 hours on it. The "worst game you've played". Thats a sweeping statement!

Seriously though this is one of the best XBOX360 games. However if you aren't an RPG fan and want instant gratification from a game then you may not like this.

OMFG I find that an amazing comment! I am only about 4 hours into the game and have been totally blown away by it. The sheer scale and open world environment are like nothing else I have ever played, endless tasks/missions that you can choose to take part in or not. The way you can make the experience totally unique (or so it seems when playing) to your own style. My gf has been playing too and her game is panning out totally differently to mine. For me its probably one of the best value games you can buy (even at full price). I can see it taking up the slot in my 360 for a long time to come. COD3, Gears and my all time favourite Burnout revenge havent had a look in the last few days.

I may add that its the first RPG to have grabbed me and sucked me in since some of the early zeldas and Final Fantasy games.

Yep, FF7 is maybe the only RPG I've enjoyed more. I'm not a great fan of RPGs either and tend to stick to FPSs, but Oblivion has me hooked.

well, I'll give it another go (the damn thing is bringing down my playerstats on live :-) ) I've got a mate who's REALLY into his RPGs and we were both pretty psyched by the reviews and recommendations from the guy in the store. we sat playing it for an hour or two and then discussed it. He said he'd been expecting a lot more from it and couldn't believe it was so different from what he'd heard. I evenhad to check the box to see I hadn't bought a totally different game called oblivion, rather than elder scrolls IV. I WILL give it another chance as I am obviously in the minority and missed something obviously amazing about it.

Top tip for anyone getting this (or people already with the game). When booting it up hold onto the 'A' button on your pad until the games loaded to reset the cache on the 360 hard drive. Loading times in the game suffer due to the way it uses the hard drive on 'some' 360s.

Pretty simple but thought some people may not know this and give up on the game due to the loading times and slow menus etc. The above tip totally sorts these problems out.

We recently got a copy of this game, and so far its the only game being played on the xbox360....it is just so vast, but I can see it may not be everyones cup of tea, but for us its a great game.

As a pointer, if you want it for £15.99, got our copy in store at Game, this was for a 'traded game' ie, one that had been previously owned. But it actually seemed to be 'brand new', only thought they may have been doing a package including the game, which had been traded in immediately by some buyers (as Game seemed to have alot of 'traded' copies).

Top tip, been noticing the load times really crawling. I've found an annoying bug though. I can't get any further through the Fighters guild as I'm stuck in the Swamp Cave quest where you are meant to kill all the trolls. However I had been in the cave before which screws up the mission, I've updated the game on Xboxlive but it doesn't seem to have fixed it. it appears its a common bug in the PC version and a patch fixes it. Any ideas?

Is this is the cave where you had to take weapons supllies to?

If so have you given the weapons to eall three of the fighters? If not do so, I also had a problem where one of the fighters was running at the door isnide the cave/mines and I could not give him his weapon, got around this by leaving caves, saving game then re-entering, the internal door in the cave can only be opened by one of the fighters you are supplying weapons to!

Took me a while to sort this out, but it does work :-D
