It Happened One Night (1934) Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert team up for laughs as mismatched lovers in this 1934 screwball comedy classic. Spoiled Ellie Andrews (Colbert) escapes from her millionaire father (Walter Connolly), who wants to stop her from marrying a worthless playboy. En route to New York, Ellie gets involved with an out-of-work newsman, Peter Warne (Gable). When their bus breaks down, the bickering couple set off on a madcap hitchhiking expedition. Peter hopes to parlay the inside story of their misadventures into a job. But complications fly when the runaway heiress and brash reporter fall in love.

You Can't Take It With You (1938) James Stewart, Jean Arthur, Lionel Barrymore and Edward Arnold star in this screwball comedy. Arthur stars as Alice Sycamore, the stable family member of an offbeat clan of free spirits, who falls for Stewart, the down-to-earth son of a snooty, wealthy family. Amidst a backdrop of confusion, the two very different families rediscover the simple joys of life...

Mr. Smith Goes To Washington (1939) James Stewart, Jean Arthur and Claude Rains star in this award-winning 1939 classic about an idealistic, small-town politician who heads to Washington and suddenly finds himself single-handedly battling ruthless politicians out to destroy him...

It's A Wonderful Life (1946) This collectors edition of Frank Capra's masterpiece is the ultimate feel good film. Starring the unforgettable James Stewart as George Bailey, the man who receives the greatest Christmas gift of all. A superb ensemble cast includes Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore, this high, spirited Christmas tale is directed by the immortal Frank Capra and ranks as an all-time favourite of fans and critics alike.

You sorta mentioned the discount in your title, so his question isn't particularly out of place is it?

Anybody know which version of 'It's a Wonderful Life' that's included?

Is it the poor(-ish) quality original release or a remastered one?
http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/dvdcompare/wonderfullife.htm
(original region 2 is shown on link, remastered only as region 1 but believe also available as region 2)
#9
It comes up at £15.85 now, so I think this has expired.
#10
It is the remastered one. There is no point whatsoever in getting the original release IMO!
#11
Definitely expired

Rats - looks like it was a mis-price and I missed it :(

Well spotted by th OP and well done to anyone who got it at the OP price.

Back at £5.85!

Any one positive on which version of the 'It's a Wonderful Life' this is?

It states 'remastered' in the description but the release date is 2004. According to all the Googling I could do the region 2 release remained a poor version until the 2006 remaster by Paramount (60th Anniversary edition), thus this would suggest it's not. From the dvdbeaver link I posted you can see the prior edition was poor in quality (comparatively). Thus, would be good to have confirmed so I know whether to buy or not.

Thanks.

EDIT: Friday 5th March - just had email to say dispatched and out of interest went to look at the deal again on The Hut and it is back to £15.85!
