Might get this when the price drops.

tempting, i was worried i might not like the games so rather than go mental on a gaming gamble i downloaded them to try on my ps2, havent tried them yet though... if its good i think i might get this as that is cheap for 3 games on the ps3 of alleged high quality !! if any of you have been on the ps3 blog you will see the media set that was released to journalists.... looks like a future collectors item

Downloading PS2 titles.... "gaming gamble" uh-huh. Good luck with the court proceedings! ;)

The "God of War Collection" improves some of the content of the previous two PS2 games, but I was disappointed with the overall graphic output as the cut-scenes still looked grainy when upscaled.

I sold my US Import of "...Collection" last week. Bet the buyer is a little narked now! :)

Do you get anything other than the box if you buy this, compared to the games separately? Thinking about getting 1 and 2 separate and then picking up GOW3 when it is cheaper
#11
Just got quidco tracking info, £3.50 cashback!!

so works out at £46.45!:)
#12
 I can't wait that long
#13
Very nice, might get on payday!
#14
Just wait and get it cheaper at some point.
#15
I personally don't think the trilogy will get cheaper anytime soon. You are effectively paying £50 for three games in HD. Awesome. Makes no sense for shops to retail it any less. I dunno. Thing is though, do I buy the trilogy or do I just buy it seperately? Decisions. Do I wait for GOW 3 get any cheaper? Or just buy the trilogy.

I just realised i kinda contradicted my first 2 sentences with my last sentence. Lol.

Better off getting it from play, 17.99 for 1 & 2, dispatched end of April, same as this and in the mean time, wait for 3 to drop in price. Unless you want the box for the boxset of course ( if that makes sense) if it doesn't my excuse is I'm sending this post from my itouch while sitting on the bog lol
#17
I'm touched you were willing to give me a reply while in some discomfort or now in comfort. lol. Yeah, I dunno whether I want all in one case or what.
#18
Have gone for the collection for 17.99 and will get GOW3 when it drops ,i hvae plenty of games to play because of this site :)

I will get whichever option is cheaper. I'm not to fussed about any exclusive content the boxset may have, I just want the 3 games.

GOW 1 & 2 were my favourite games on PS2 with Shadow of the Colossus. I want to buy GOW3 but soo skint this month! Still got Battlefield, Mass effect 2 and a host of other games to play!

Lol, the funny thing is someone will buy it! cant believe people were/are paying £300 for the ultimate edition, I actually really wanted it until i saw the plastic box and realised what a rip off it was but it was too late already ordered it, and now knowing i can have the first 2 games without having to have the ultimate set mine is is going on fleabay too!

(Remind me not to buy your iPod Touch from you if you ever offer it for sale)

The other advantage with buying separately is that you may not like the first two games in the franchise & may then not be interested in buying "God of War III".

You'll find out for £17.99 rather than spending £49.95 on both Blu-ray Disc game titles in the "Trilogy" boxed set. The loss selling a £17.99 pre-owned will only be a few pounds. Trying to sell a £49.95 item pre-owned will mean the loss will be greater.

The only reason the “God of War Collection” title is selling at similar prices pre-owned as it was to buy new is that it is currently not available in Europe. When the domestic availability changes at the end of April the pre-owned prices will fall resulting in sellers making a loss. Arguably the pre-owned prices will not be as strong now (since yesterday's announcement) as potential buyers may just wait the five weeks until it is released in Europe.

You could surely [...and stop calling me Shirley] have foreseen that the offering the more expensive item for sale first that contains the extra content then waiting until everybody has collected their pre-orders before announcing the cheaper "no frills" option was always going to be the game-plan.

If they had reversed the availability of the items or announced both together months ago then the higher priced item would not have sold as well & revenue would be affected.

It is a similar principle as music concert tickets. Not announcing all the dates at the same venue at the same time means all the tickets for the first event are sold first. If sales are not as strong as expected then the second date need never be announced & the promoter can cancel the option for the second (or subsequent) booking of the venue. If all dates are announced at once then there is a risk that partial sales occur across both (or all) dates rather than a single full event. The overall cost of booking the venue is less if the announcement is timed so that profit is maximised.

Good luck with your auction.

fp.

haha yeah yeah i know what you're thinking but i an not a "pirater" i do like to try before i buy sometimes though as im quite fussy with games, ive done it a lot and i buy the games i like.. no different to downloading a legal demo from the psn store really for me, just depends on whether a demo is available of not, i already DL the GOW3 demo for example but havent played it.. but my OCD wont let me play the 3rd one if i havent got the first two!!! im weird like that
so im willing to take the risk ;)

Buy God of War 3...it's just a more polished version of the first two. The plot of the first two is this: Kratos is wronged by a Greek god so decides destroy them killing every single creature mentioned in Greek mythology in the process.

btw, I reckon that GoW3 will fall in price quickly, simply because it is too short.

not sure whether to get the god of war collection first and god of war 3 later on. what are the pros of getting the trilogy?
#35
It looks like this price has expired now, it's up to £52.95, cheapest appears to be thehut, which is £52.73.
