Players can fill the shoes of the Don in this free roaming title from EA based on the classic film trilogy.
The Godfather films are perhaps the most revered trilogy in cinema. EA’s Godfather sequel doesn’t follow the classic storyline, however, instead forging its own identity in the world of organised crime, with a number of well known characters in tow. When a family Don is killed during a Cuban uprising, it’s up players to take the job and keep the gangster family intact. With Michael Corleone now under investigation, players must work to control New York and expand into Miami.
Starting from the bottom, players will need to work their work back up the crime ladder, forging allegiances with families, putting together crews and fighting off any rivals who want turf. Up to three valued crew members are on offer to take along on jobs, including arsonists, demolitions experts and safecrackers. To command true respect players will need to use the Don’s View feature to survey their turf, see how businesses are performing and chose their next target.
Expanding on The Godfather’s rich story instead of copying it, Godfather II places players in an underworld where their choices will actually have consequences.
