tempted to wait and see if they drop to 40%. before making the effort to go into town to have a look.
#2

I got the full trilogy on DVD for 50p from the misplaced boxes section! :D WHAT A DEAL!
#5
my local had sold out a week ago.

30% off..... is that all Woolworths are doing?

I was under the impression they were selling all their stock for 50p etc!

I bought this at 20% off last week.....shame i missed out on the extra 10% but guess you have to weigh up the benefit of waiting against the risk of the stock selling out
Be interesting to see how the price goes down now theyve announced when each store is to close, im holding out for a bargain on guitar hero world tour band in a box

woolies ahve always had over pricing on dvds gams etc so not suprised theyve gone bust. if they'd started charging these prices in the first place they might have still been in business.
#10
there seem to be a few in-store deals for woolies at the moment. i won't be voting them hot or cold, because if your local woolies is anything like mine, it looks like it's in the process of being looted, with literally empty shelves taking up half the store, with the odd broken table lamp looking rather forlorn in the corner. quite sad just being in there really. anyways, point i was going to make was "good luck" finding some of these deals :)
#11
Just got Harry Potter 1-5 on Blu ray for £38 (last one at Blyth store) which is a great price, they had quite a few blu rays left at 30% off but not sure they will still be there later when reductions get higher.
#12
Is a good deal for the blu ray, but it's a shame the picutre is worse on blu ray than the standard dvds.

Not on my telly, it aint.

If Woolworths are selling for these prices now , why didn't they sell for these prices then !

No wonder they have gone under .

heat added - picked mine up in otley, nr leeds - cost £ 20.82

none on the shelves, but the young man had a look for me behind the counter and there it was - bargain

I got mine for £26 when it was 20% off, went to wrap it a week later and realised the dumb blonde had given me 2 x Godfather II, and no Godfather I. :o You'd think the first thing a shop assistant would do when compiling a boxset is make sure you put the right discs in. Took it back and had to get a refund as they didn't have any left, so some poor soul is going to get a Godfather boxset for Xmas with 2 x Godfather I, and no way of getting a refund or anything. None in any more stores near me, so have had to just get it for the cheapest price online...
#22
God dammit, if only I had a Blu-ray player :-(

Extremely hot deal for a extremely brilliant trilogy (well.. 1+2)
#23
The reason they are going under is because the likes of Tesco sell CDs and DVDs at a lose. They make their profit from impulse buys on other luxury buys and other produce.
They can also do this becaue of scale of economy while companies like HMV, Zavvi, Woolworths and WH SMith can't. Its all very well right now but when they've all gone to the wall I suspect we, the customer, will not be having the last laugh. Uncompetitive prices and lack of range beckon.
#24
Somehow I don't think Woolies went under because of their DVD/CD etc prices. Has anyone been down to a store in the past week? All that's left is the tat which no manner of discounting could shift. Sadly, that's half the store.

Cracking deal!

Woolwhat?

I cant see any of the supermarkets selling anything at a loss, just so they can drag you in on an impulse buy, that doesnt make good business sense.
As for the boxset with 2 Godfather 2's im surprised as you take the box to the counter and they give you a sealed one from the drawer/shelf.

Well what I mean is that the picture is alot sharper, but that doesn't necesarily mean a better picture. I was just disappointed with the picture quality in terms of grain. Maybe i'm just being picky as it's an older set of movies.

And there's nothing wrong with the set up because the other blu rays are fantastic as well as my sky hd.

no offence dude, but the picture issupposed to be amazing on blu ray, look on all the sites reviews etc, they took alot of time to upscale it and it worked!

No offense taken. I think the way i'm explaining it is wrong. I've seen numerous reviews saying the picture is fantastic, but they also mention that grain is an issue. Put it this way, i'm a huge Godfather fan but if I were to buy it, i'd probably but it on normal if it was really cheap. Otherwise i'd pick it up on blu ray.

It's by no means an awful transfer. Like I say the transfer is crystal clear and the colour is great, but I just found the grain to be a bit off putting.

Still a good deal none the less.

My set up is just fine, but picture quality is no better than an upscaled DVD.

As for Woolworth's, my local is now offering 30% off but the cheeky gits have actually RAISED the prices of their blu-rays to compensate for the 30% off. What a bunch of complete *****.
#32
Had none in Birmingham Pallasades store and Blu-rays are over £20 each :o :(
#33
They had a load of these in my local this morning for around £15.
#34
Picked up the last one from Woolies, Albany Road, Cardiff.
20.84 no problems.

Thanks to OP. Thats my last xmas pressie sorted - well for myself :)))
