but still a good deal

During our last sale we had the largest number of hits ever, with over 500,000 people trying to book the rooms and all 1000 sold out within 19 minutes. We are expecting the same amount of traffic during this sale so you may not get a room for either a £1 or £29 - sorry. However we still have other bargains available!

Rooms for £59 over the August Bank Holiday.
All Sundays in September at £59.
All Fridays and Saturdays in November at £79.
Rooms from £30 in December.
Rooms on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day for £30.

To make the sale as fair as possible all the same rules apply, you are only allowed to book one room, for one night at £1. If we find anyone misbehaving they will lose all their bookings - you've be warned.

Better listed under competitions - the chances of getting a £1 room work out, on the above figures, at 500 to 1 against.

I'm stopping over the August bank holiday for Notting Hill Carnival. I've stopped here before, great hotel for the price and it certainly beats all the 'budget' hotels I've stayed in.

Are you sure it is 1PM GMT? I read it as 1pm London time, i.e 1PM BST (which would be 12PM GMT).

Remember that the UK is currently on BST, which is GMT+1 hour...
#11
you are right neilmonk, i completely forgot we had gone forward 1 hour, silly me, thanks for correcting it though, but the rest of the stuff is true :)

so to clarify for those of us confused including me, that the site says I QUOTE, which is what you should DO
"The 3rd July at 1pm (UK Time) marks the official start of our next £1 sale. "
#13
Voted hot - got a £1 room last time!

Thanks and repped!
#20
Oh my god! I got one!! :p
#21
Didn't get one, constant error preventing T&C to appear. That sucks...
#22
Funking con! Deal is iced.
#23
Exactly same. Entered all my details, pressed finish reservation and T&C wouldn't load so lost the room. That stinks!!! It's the last time I do it. It's in a poxy part of London anyway! Bitter? Just a bit! It was for my birthday too...

FFS.

I'm seriously ****** off :(

The site didn't crash... all was good, the links went live slightly before the countdown, and I was in, filled everything out, had a £1 room on the exact day I wanted, filled in credit card details etc etc, and click finish reservation....

then it came up with a box saying terms and conditions, tried to press accept immediately, but it insisted on waiting for them to load.... at which point is said "unable to load terms and conditions". Button wouldn't press - I was screwed :( Ahh well :(

I did everything frigging right. Wouldn' let you accept them, and wouldn't load them.
#26

Ditto. Then i tried again, and it said that the date i selected had been taken and that i must choose alternative dates.....but there was no option to change and reselect without starting all again.

Same pretty much :(

I've calmed down now. If the site had died... I wouldn't have been to bothered, it was expected... it was just I got so frigging close to getting one, absolutely perfect... then at the last possible stage... boom it died.

Gutted.

Never mind.
#31
sometimes its so tempting but repeated failure over their every sale period this past made me wonder if i should waste time during my precious lunch break on trying to win such a lottery...
#32
got one last time, this time no chance. well, nevermind...
banned#33
I won one in st petersburg in december for £1, but i wont even be going now....but with london i would definately have made use of.
#34
norton internet security kept blocking the hoxton booking website becuase it said it was a security threat.
#35
I failed last time but got it this time. Guess I finally got the timing down to the seconds! I typed like crazy entering the details when booking lol
#36
Got one too! Its all about using the ihotelier html link, as the normal site crashes about a second after the offer begins usually :-)
#37
So many people seem to have got the T&C problem just before finishing their booking this time. this is the closest I've got after trying a couple of previous sales and I can't be bothered anymore. If you've been before it must be much quicker becasue they already have your details so that must be quite a big advantage when timing is crucial.

I've been before and the website didnt save my details. I've managed to get them before and also missed out too, so it really is an absolute lottery. This time I filled in the room details already on the HTML link, and managed to click through first time bang on 1pm. :p

waaaaaaahh!! missed it!! gutted. :(
