Yeah! We, the working poor, buy all of our stuff from Poundland and vote these excellent deals cold because we can't afford them. Not because they're over priced pieces of ****.

Child.

People who don't have the spare cash to afford these sort of things have a real difficulty understanding.

It's a piece of art. Ever been to an art gallery before and seen the prices of those? What about those expensive porcelian statues your mum likes etc, they are not cheap.

If you want something unique in your home then you have to pay the cash for them otherwise you end up sticking with the **** you get form Tesco or similar. Just because you don't like the subject matter doesn't mean you can judge everyone who may.

To call these **** is just plain ignorant, but judging by your username thats no surprise is it.

I expect this to be voted cold because this isn`t a bargain but your ignorance of the actual product or products in this class is obvious . Btw i work as a welder and live in an ex semi council house with my wife and 2 kids . So im not exactly rich .

I'd vote cold for the following reason: Due for release on 30/06/2009

Why tie up so much money for half a year before getting it?

It's mass producible, with artificially restricted supply and invented RRPs.

The price for these does not represent either the man hours used in making it nor the genuinely limited supply of antiques.

Yes the original oil painting in the gallery would be valuable. The poster prints in the gift shop are not. No matter even if they have a £399 RRP.

Nice piece.

Expensive, but these items usually are, this is a high end collectable which many on this forum would not be interested in.

Plays packaging is terrible, I just wouldn't trust them to get it to you in one piece. I've had to many bad experiences with them in the past, it may be worth paying that bit more & getting it from Forbidden Planet or one of the other respectable suppliers if some one really wanted this.

Unlikely to be cheaper buying direct, as you will be hit with the high shipping costs & possible customs taxes.

Isn`t everything we buy have invented RRPs? and yes the do have a restricted supply ( i see nothing wrong in that btw ) thats what make these more valuable over time, sometimes very little time . but this is a practice that has gone on for hundreds of years so is nothing new. Some poster prints can command very high prices purple lady ? from the seventies comes to mind which there was literally hundreds of thousands were made look at the prices now . Anything is worth what someone is prepared to pay. And in the case of high end collectable statues is a lot of money . Just because you think it`s not worth it doesn`t mean everyone does :)

Ps. i`m not sure about this piece as i have not ordered but sideshow have an EU wherehouse in the uk so no customs if it ships from there.

Point still stands, if you want one you have to pay the cash, whether it's an original piece costing £15,000 or a limited print of 500 costing £350.

As for the man hours, these are normally hand painted.
