Great Find ... I was only looking there last week and it was still up at £6-some, so I went for one of their older albums for £3

Definate download when i get home

The Muse album is also £3 - definately worth it !

Was looking last night and it was a lot more expensive. Will check again tonight.
FYI, new Oasis album also £3 for the download. Cheers.

This CD already at home for £6.99 from BangCD for one of Mrs M' Christmas pressies. I like the idea of having the 'hard copy' version too. Good deal tho' if actually available at this price.

i prefer the try before u buy technique lol, would rather pay the extra few £ for a physical copy, cus at least when u dont need it anymore u can flog for a few quid, dont see too many people jumping at paying ya for a few mp3s

ps i hope they give ya the mp3 in 320 birate at least

They've dropped a few prices since last night and put others up. Guns n Roses Chinese Democracy and Razorlight Slipway Fires are down to £3 too, bargains if you fancy them although reviews are average or worse! Hot for Killers, got tickets to see them next year too

Anyone know what the bitrate of these downloads from amazon are?

I'm waiting for the smug person to say "I know where you can get it for free :whistling: :whistling:"

Hot for me, shame I did actually already buy it!

Great find!! Heat added... but a real audiophile wont like the loss of quality of the MP3. I was an MP3 addict till i actually listened to the difference between MP3 and FLAC or MP3 and CD!! Get the lossless copy of the song if you like it!!

NNOOOOO I paid £6.99 for this cd in Morrisons a week ago and thought that was good!

Amazon are getting really competitive on the download front.

This must have been added recently, because I am sure it wasn't there a week ago

I agree - I would far rather pay the extra for the CD and then you can convert it to MP3 at your choice of bitrate. The quality of an MP3 written to a CD is not nearly as good as the original.

Given the way the broadband speeds keep increasing more MP3 stores need to sell WAV files which are uncompressed (albeit large files).

Hot deal. Last time I looked it was closer to the £7 mark. Amazon are becoming an attractive alternative to iTunes and unless the latter bucks their ideas up and gets more competitive with their pricing then they are going to lose custom.

Having said that, pricing on Amazon does seem a little inconsistent - you can buy the CD version of Vampire Weekend direct from Amazon for the same price as the mp3 download version! Who would opt for the latter in that case? I'm sure there are probably examples whereby the CD is cheaper than the download but haven't come across one yet.

Still decent though.

Well u will never get lossless quality in MP3, and WAV is very very large. You can get FLAC versions of albums at quite a few stores now. Infcat Metallica and a few bands are promoting FLAC format on their website for all digital downloads. Wiki it if you want to know more. Download mediamonkey as a media library manager, and you can transcode and encode into and from FLAC for free. BTW FLAC is a open source codec, never pay any money for the encoder or decoder software.

I've used them in the past and fast downloads and 100% legal. 320kbps as well!

100% illegal, chum.

It's a Ukrainian website taking advantage of wishy-washy ex-soviet copyright laws. Current cost of homegrown albums is something like $7.00 now. Check a genuinely legitimate site like www.umka.com.ua/eng and compare those prices to what this one is charging. There is no way that $2.02 is a credible price for downloading a Western album, especially as DRM-free downloads have to be negotiated with the labels - so far only the likes of Amazon have been sanctioned for major Western releases.
