Got some of this when it was offer at the COOP a few weeks ago, they dont have any more so looks like i need a trip to Asda!
Superb cheese, creamy with a great bite, cheesr as it used to be, strong and mature. A bargain for cheese lovers, wasted as a cheese sauce.

It is very nice cheese.

And before it gets mentioned... no, it isn't actually made within the boundary of the Lake District National Park... it's just the name of the brand but thankfully that doesn't affect the taste :)

Lovely? I don't rate it at all.
As supermarket factory made cheddar goes it's not one I will buy again. About the same as the other "cheapie" cheddar - "Colliers"

One of the better 'supermarket' cheddars. Good full flavour, without the unpleasant edge that some cheap strong/mature cheddars have, Pleasant texture.
#9
Is this really crumbly?

Picked up a few packs a couple of days ago and it was £2 and not bad at all.

Sainsbury's have a deal that works out just a bit more expensive per kilo:

Sainsbury's Taste The Difference Isle Of Bute Mature Cheddar, 400g
or
Sainsbury's Taste the Difference West Country Farmhouse Mature Cheddar, 400g

2 for £4.00

Offer on until 12/10/2010.

Just had a nice bottle of decent chardonnay with a rather substantial 'chunk' of this cheese all sliced up and............yeah its good! This is probably about my fourth or fifth block of this cheese and it is lovely. Slightly crubbly but no salty bits/lumps but a nice rounded mature flavour.
