As always, I was just ordering my supply of the awesome American Crew Fiber for the month from Feel Unique because the price is superb, when it occurred to me that I should be sharing this knowledge with others.

I ask you to judge the deal on its merits when compared to prices at other retailers, where it generally always sells for its RRP of about £11 with shipping on top as well.

Nonetheless, I expect this to go cold, but hopefully those who know that this is the best styling thing any bloke could ever put on his hair will benefit, and maybe someone who had never tried it will also benefit. I urge all to give it a try. All that cheap, nasty gunk they sell in supermarkets is just pointless compared to this stuff. Anyway there it is.

They also sell a 50g pot and most of the rest of the American Crew range cheaper than anywhere else (I believe).

Good find. My hairdresser can't get hold of this through the usual channels anymore, so I switched to REF505 a few months ago. Now he's having problems getting REF so I think I'll be buying online every couple of months. Thanks for the heads up! (pun intended).

wheres that available from & "how maach?" the problem /i always ha is having to wash my hair every evening with stuff to stop it from getting on the bed linen

It's not one I've used so I couldn't comment.

I have used a lot of other things as well as Fiber over the last ten years, and I always go back to the Fiber after a couple of days. I've never found anything that comes close. Give it a try and judge for yourself.

Vote HOT! This is a good spot. I have been using fiber for a long time... nothing else seems to come close. I usually tend to go to a particular online auction site, but this price is still a contender.

Navcity - I never find this stuff causing a mess. I'd say it was a very "neat" product. They have these mini pot about the place. I would highly recommend.

(Check us "real" men out - d'oh!)

Never used DT, but by the description on the tub it may be similar. Crew Fiber is a matte finish, smooth but thick, waxy-like cream. Nothing I've tried really compares.

ah no then..DT is thick and hard....just like wax tbh

I find the Fiber washes out with water it's that easy to wash out, but still survives heavy downpours pretty well.

Yeah... real men's men we are.

Add another one to Fiber users. Have used this for years... best there is no doubt.
#12
how does this american crew fiber compare to the fudge hair products mentioned above?
#13
Tresseme putty for me awsome.
#14
Ive used fudge and AC, American crew seems the better product but hey, you have to try it out, everyone is different.

I myself am a Butch Mint Clay User.

OMG... Cant believe that this would go HOT, Grown men talking about Hair product.

I have really lame thin hair, would this be any good for me?
#16
Is it any good for the frizzy hair to form curls?
#17
is this 85g or 100g? didn't know there was an 85g, but if it is it might not be a great deal as you can get 100g delivered for a few pence less from a pick of sellers on ebay.
#18
This is the best wax i have used and have stuck with this for the last 5 years i reckon now.
Voting this one cold though as its actually the 85g size...NOT 100g

Ebay is always the best deal for this though, bought it form here every time for las few years for £8.25 with free delivery for the 100g size. Just have a search for it.

yes, it will thicken your hair a bit. matte products are much better for ppl with thin hair.

i think if you like AC fibre, you should get on with the fudge matt head. i switched to the fudge matt head product as i found it was softer and easier to appy than the AC fibre which could go a bit hard in the jar.

the fudge hair shaper is a bit of a diff product, again nice and soft so easy to apply but not as matte and a bit stickier as well.

Im a devote American Crew fan, My favourite is the one with the green lid, the creme and also the classic Styling Gel. I Normally pay £9.99 for the classic creme and is widely available in Salons, the styling gel is £6.99 I think.

Fudge?....... a tramp wouldn't style his bum hair with this junk

I'd argue you can get better on Ebay... 7.5 for 100g

Just ordered the hard hold gel, its the best gel i've used. Got the quidco and discount, they deliver worldwide for free - cool.
#25
I had this.. it makes your hair look nice, but it's difficult to obtain any style.. it's not in the same market as some of the clays you can buy imho.
#26
brilliant find!

I've used ebay in the past too and it is cheaper, as it is for most things. But it's a gamble. In my experience reliable traders come and go too quick and I've ended up with an obvious old and past its best product that had gone a bit 'funny'. I've also had my identity stolen on ebay to the tune of £600, so I'm happy buying elsewhere considering the very minute margins in price.

Can anyone compare this to Proclaire Freeze Shaping Gum??
#30
I have got extremely thick hair that is difficult to style at the best of times. Over the years I have tried a million and one different hair products and only a very select few are capable of taming my beast of a bouffant!!

With that in mind, would anyone recommend this product or will it not be strong enough?
#31
It will definitely work so long as your barnet is point cut rather than flat.
#32
Original Brylcreem is the best, everything else is for ponces.

AC Fibre- GREAT STUFF! used it for 4 years.
Really good for thin hair styling, fragrance not to strong either.

Fudge Matt Head - Good stuff too, however it seems to be harder to wash out!:w00t:

Matrix Dirty Trix - Smells awful, hard to apply on and a nightmare to wash out!:x

Mate swears by Crew, never used it myself.

However, If anyone can find 125g tubs of Sebastian Xtah Crude Clay (™™™™) around the tenner mark, then much praise, heat and rep from me
