Had a look at this insote today, and is a lovely set of two hard back books in a slip hard box cover. Lots of great colourful pictures, and my four year old loved it (although it's really aimed at older readers).

Had a look online, and it's £10 rather than the £25 instore I saw today. Free delivery also.

£16.25 at WHSmiths
£15.11 at Amazon (out of stock)
£18.99 play

I wrote a dissertation on the Lego Company when I was at Uni (more than a few years ago!). This book would have helped. In this world of corporate take overs and mergers Lego remains a 'Family-Owned' company! That really is some achievement. It has gone through some very tough economic difficulties in the last few years however. But then, who hasn't?

Might buy it for the nostalgia (the book that is not the company!:-D). Hot from me.

Has to be seen in the flesh to be appreciated, it really is a lovely couple of books.

Having spent the best part of xmas putting together lego models for a four year old, it was nice to see the models I owned as a child in glorious technicolour. Very nostalgic.

How spooky, I have been looking for this book! Thanks OP!

ordered this when it was first posted 5 days ago and I've been informed that it's out of stock and they are waiting for it to come in.

We bought this book/s for our 8 year old for Christmas and paid the full £25. It is an excellent quality book, very coffee table-ish. £10 is a bargain. Look out for the dedicated Star Wars one as well which is equally as good and comes with a unique character as well.

Still available on the website, quoting 2-3 weeks for delivery.

Haven't received an 'out of stock' email for my order.

I ordered this on the 31st Dec 09 for my son's birthday in Feb. It still hadn't arrived today so I rang customer services.
They didn't have any idea when this would be coming back into stock again and weren't able to contact anybody within the company who might know if the order to the wholesaler had been placed and when it was likely to be delivered. Hopeless company.
Have cancelled the order and got it from Amazon instead for £15. Not such a good deal but at least my son will get it for his birthday.
Nice offer shame about Waterstones lack of delivery :-(

Sorry to read that - I've just had an email from Waterstones confirming despatch of this book, which was the reason I was bumping the thread.

My order confirmation also states that the price i will be charged is still £10 as I ordered, as I understand its gone up to >£20 now.

Just got a similar email - it's on its way for a tenner. Just in time for my son's birthday :)

Got mine today! Took a while but worth the wait. My son is enjoying looking through it at the moment.

Shame you didn't wait a little longer! Sod's Law I suppose.

Yeah, ours arrived today as well.

An excellent book, as well as the one about the Lego minifigures - well worth £10.
