The Lord of the Rings: Conquest puts players into the thick of the tremendous battle over The One Ring, playing out battles from both sides of the confrontation! Conquest will let players take control of many of the characters and creatures from the series and pit them on any of the franchise's famous battlefields. From Cave-trolls to Oliphaunts to the Balrog and even Sauron, practically the entire universe will be available for battle with up to 150 characters on-screen at any one time. Up to 16 players will be able to clash online, with four players able to play cooperatively through the main campaign either online or via four-player split-screen. And with two distinct campaigns to play through, including an original take on what would happen if Sauron regained control of the One Ring, the game promises plenty of scenarios to wage battle through.

Just watched the films again over the weekend, which has made me order this, reviews are not too bad and looks like it could be fun!

Interesting... I remember looking at this when it was £40 a loooong while ago. Can't remember whether I was put off by the price or the game in general... I shall youtube it for gameplay watching.

nice price

It's a OK game and a good buy at this price:thumbsup:

The game is god-awful; it's such an insult to Tolkien's legendarium.

But hey, you can't really go wrong for that price. It's not the worst game I've ever played, I'll give it that.

Seeing Aragorn walk round in his King Elessar coronation armour though... no thanks. Stick to the lore in future.

ordered thanks 4% quidco aswell

Wasn't impressed with this at all after waiting til last week to play it. Gameplay is mostly Star Wars Battlefront wrapped up in LOTR tissue paper. However for anyone wanting to see for themselves, this is a good price, heat.

this game is absolutely awful. honestly, avoid it at all costs. it is nothing like the LOTR games you will have played before so you will be veru disappointed. I played it once and hated it so much that I sold it the next day!

even for this price it is a waste of money.

Quite a tough game - so if you are after gamerscore

A good game, think Star Wars Battlefront in Middle Earth. Order 2 and get a friend to help you with some tricky achievements (like 10 headshots)

Great price. I am tempted

this game is quite awful

online doesnt work
single player is nothing short of infuriating
#14
I would agree that this game is terrible. I played it twice, then sold it on...................

Books are good, films are bad, this is bad. Not voted either way.

This game isn't worth the DVD it's written to...

Anyone who isn't a Tolkien fan boy give an impartial view? =p

Battlefront in Middle Earth sounds fine to me. I don't really give 2 sh*tes about the lore or the legacy if it's fun to play. =]

That is the problem - the game is no fun at all. I am not a Tolkien fanboy, have only a passing interest in the books and films, and hated the game.

I may be a Tolkien fanatic, but I'm also a lifelong gamer, and I can assure you every aspect of this game annoyed me.

Not just deviations from the lore, the actual game, its gameplay, it just wasn't fun. At all. It was frustrating, the controls were clunky, and it didn't work very well in general. But that's just my opinion.

There are demos available both on Xbox Live and PSN, as far as I'm aware, so try it out for yourself. I personally wouldn't recommend it though. At that price, it's probably worth it if you didn't mind the demo so much.

Cheers guys... clunky controls are one of my biggest bug-bears, so I will give the demo a whirl first. =]

Seem to all be gone now...
