The Fellowship Of The Ring: In a time before history, in a place called Middle-earth, a dark and powerful lord has brought together the forces of evil to destroy its cultures and enslave all life caught in his path. Sauron's time has come and he needs only one small object - a Ring that has been lost for centuries - to snuff out the light of civilization and cover the world in darkness.

The Two Towers: The Fellowship has divided and now finds themselves taking different paths to defeating Sauron and his allies. Their destinies now lie at two towers - Orthanc Tower in Isengard, where the corrupted wizard Saruman waits and Sauron's fortress at Barad-dur, deep within the dark lands of Mordor.

The Return Of The King: Members of the fellowship prepare for the final battle of Middle Earth, while Frodo & Sam approach Mount Doom to destroy the One Ring...

Best thing ever on DVD. For £14.95. Fantastico.

Can't imagine anyone with a DVD player hasn't already got this but if that's you...do your self a favour and get this for Christmas. If you love the LOTRs movies then this will make your Christmas!

Agree with blu-ray comment though...but I'm waiting until the extended versions are released.

Yes, blue ray extended will be the ultimate!
Love this set though - we watched them three sundays in succession there finishing yesterday. Really superb!

I've already got the standard edition.

Is it worth getting the extended edition?

A lot of extra footage, subplots etc. Plays more like chapters than a flowing narrative of a film. Imo the theatrical cuts have their place too. But at this price, a nice set to have.

I wouldn't go as far to say they're unconfirmed, especially after reading the latest comments from Peter Jackson. ;-)

By the way, the extended editions are the best way to watch the movie, as you become more deeply immersed in the story.

Fantastic box-set, it's an essential purchase for anyone. This thing seems to get more expensive every time a deal comes out though, I bought this for about £12 nearly 2 years ago! Still gets a hot vote though, think you'll struggle to get it much cheaper at the moment.

I bought this aggggeeeesss ago for £30 and thought it was an amazing bargain! Now there is no excuse not to buy these amazing movies!! I'm love it so much that when the Bluray comes out I'd be buying that too!

Can't go wrong for £15! I must have paid near £100 for them separately a few years back. This is one set I wouldn't mind having on DVD if it meant I didn't have to wait for the blu-ray release. Then I'd buy the blu-ray when it came down in price a bit. This set will make you very happy!
