not bad prices, but this is amazing in HD and I think that warrants spending a little bit more than getting the DVD version

They're not available in HD (except on Sky HD or as TV captured .mkv).
There's no serious release date for them to appear on HD either.

I would warn prospective buyers,
you really have to want to watch a hell of a lot of LOTR to buy the extended versions.
If you do then great, if not then it's a bit of a waste.

I have the ex eds of all 3 of the LOTR movies but I just can't get around to getting the time clear to watch one of them - Return of the King is 4 and a half hours long!
(and apparantly Jackson won't allow them to be called 'Director's Cuts, he prefers the theatrical versions)

There's about 11hrs in total - The Fellowship of the Ring is 208mins long, The Two Towers is 223mins long & Return of the King is 252mins long.

The Lord of the Rings Around Your Eyes the day after watching all that in one sitting.

I bought this set from the Zavvi "Sale" for £20 a few weeks ago & thought I was getting a bargain.

Great price. Good find. Heat added.

This IS HOT! My bro has this collection, bought seperatley which cost a fair whack a few years back. A MUST for any fan of the movies. Loads of extras and what not, and 'proper' extended versions, not so called 'extended' versions with a mere 2 mins of extra footage or similar.
