Best price I've seen on this in a while !! This is the extended edition box set of The Lord of the Rings trilogy and you can grab it for £17.89 delivered from sendit.com. Cheapest elsewhere at the minute is about £25....

Details: The extended editions of Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings present the greatest trilogy in film history in the most ambitious sets in DVD history. In bringing J.R.R. Tolkien's nearly unfilmable work to the screen, Jackson benefited from extraordinary special effects, evocative New Zealand locales, and an exceptionally well-chosen cast, but most of all from his own adaptation with co-writers Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, preserving Tolkien's vision and often his very words, but also making logical changes to accommodate the medium of film. While purists complained about these changes and about characters and scenes left out of the films, the almost two additional hours of material in the extended editions (about 11 hours total) help appease them by delving more deeply into Tolkien's music, the characters, and loose ends that enrich the story, such as an explanation of the Faramir-Denethor relationship, and the appearance of the Mouth of Sauron at the gates of Mordor. In addition, the extended editions offer more bridge material between the films, further confirming that the trilogy is really one long film presented in three pieces (which is why it's the greatest trilogy ever--there's no weak link). The scene of Galadriel's gifts to the Fellowship added to the first film proves significant over the course of the story, while the new Faramir scene at the end of the second film helps set up the third and the new Saruman scene at the beginning of the third film helps conclude the plot of the second.

This is a great price indeed, ordered! Thanks emma, voted++!

Last time I ordered this at foxy (for £20), they cancelled the order and told me that they weren't making any money with the sale. :x

Let's hope sendit will send me this one! :p

Darn it, I recently bought all 3 in the HMV 3 for £15 deal. I think they are coming down in price as there is a new LOTR box set coming out in early 2007, featuring both the theatrical version and a new special extended edition, both with new soundtracks.

Anyone else had a problem ordering from here? I have tried 3 times now and then my order has been cancelled because my address doesn't match that of my bank payment card??!! Have e-mailed them to see if they know what the problem is.....

Why not? He/She could have just bumped this one rather than creating a whole new thread for it, that's what the search function is there for .

If we had a new thread for every time something came in or out of stock, the forum would become overrrun with duplicates. It is our policy to remove duplicates if they are within a month of the original post, unless there has been a price change. Since this post is only from two days ago, it's been bumped, instead of creating a new thread.....

Would you have checked this thread again, knowing Sendit had raised to the price from £17.99 to £37.99 only a few hours previously?

Oh well... I'm just happy about getting the LotR Ex Trilogy for £17.89. :D

See emmajk42's post above. That's how the 'Expired' tagging works. If a deal that is posted is no longer available, or increases in price so it's no longer a 'deal' it is marked as expired.
When an item comes back into stock, drops back down to the amount it was originally posted at then hopefully someone will click on the 'Not Expired' link to 'un-expire' the deal. If it's been bumped a MOD will usually look at it, or the person that bumped it to let us know the deal is back in stock might be kind enough to PM a MOD to let them know.

To answer your question more directly Aion, if I was interested in this item and it had been bumped to the top of the forum, yes, I would have checked it.

They didn't add the price to your sent confirmation email either?

I've only ever ordered once before from Sendit, so I'm sure if they don't add the price to emails.

Just in case they try to bill me for £37.99, I took a screenshot of my order history. :)

[SIZE=2]Thanks for your e-mail.
I am sorry that this item was damaged- this is not usual.
Would you like me to organise a replacement for you?

Same here... 2 discs were loose also. :/

I can't be bothered to go through the trouble of sending it back, unless of course the discs have problems.
#37
Thanks very much for this. I'm relieved from my seasonal brain-racking from son no. 2 in relation to what I want for Christmas.
#38
Many thanks, just ordered :)
