Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. It's fun to be a vampire.

Very underated and misunderstood man, Corey Haim was one of the best.:o As is this film.

Yes R.I.P. Corey, a very entertaining film that deservedly reached Cult Status. Well worth £4.15, I'd also recommend the Blu Ray version which has a lot of exclusive material. Thanks "dhope" for finding this deal.

It was only a matter of time before we had one of these sentimental posts. Great film, but WTF.

Yup. Not seen it myself but a few random fb updates go mentioning it so thought I'd see what the fuss was about, and figured I may as well post.

RIP Corey, I'm sure in the midst of their abject grief your family will be warmed to the very core when they come on here looking for condolences from complete strangers who never knew him.

I remember when I 1st heard the tragic news, my brother ran in the room and said Corey Haim is dead!
Who?
Corey Haim!
That your friend?
No, he was in The Lost Boys?
(Long pause)
Corey Haim the greatest and misunderstood actor in the world?
Yeah

Never knew him personaly, he was always in the media though, i used to read a lot, about him and from him, its not too difficult to class a persons psyche from how they talk.

:thumbsup:I can only speak for myself in saying that I was mainly commenting on the Film, and the "R.I.P." was a courtesy. I was brought up to respect others and I live by the standards my parents set for me.

First things first: don't misinterpret this as me having a go at you, because I'm not. I'm just putting across my own view on why sentiments like this are often met with a bit of hostility and/or cynicism.

I was also brought up to respect others, but I just fail to see how people are respecting anything other than their own ego by offering platitudes on here. The logical extension of your argument is that because we think it's futile and self-satisfying to post condolences on here, we don't have respect and don't want Corey Haim to rest in peace (as if he has a choice in the matter, anyway). The point is that saying something like "RIP Corey" on here does absolutely nothing of any consequence other than making the people who say it feel better about themselves because they have shown lots of other people how compassionate and 'respectful' they are.

I don't believe that anyone on here had anything even remotely approaching a personal relationship with Corey Haim, so if people want to have the right to make schmaltzy comments about people they have never met, they shouldn't be surprised when people point out that any such sentiments might come across as empty and pointless.

Like I said, not having a go at you. Just explaining why some of the "RIP" comments were not taken in the benevolent way the original posters probably intended.
