If he is going to cook then it's irrelevant what is in the M&S deal surely? The M&S food all comes ready prepared, just needs heating. No cooking involved.

Dont get me wrong....M&S food is good..or atleast it use to be. But recently with this £10 deal offer,...and pricing it has pee'd me off... As previoulsy about 2 years ago they use to sell stuff at reasonable price.. For Example Chicken Breast joint - £3.99- £4.99 for a portion that serves 2 -3 and often they did half price offer on it.

But now the same Chicken Joint is £6.95 if you wanna buy it on its own..This is only to raise the pricing bar so they can make Dine for £10 look attractive....

Food quality is slipping too.....and I find their stores lot emptier than usual..

All I am saying M&S take note...before you walk woolworths trail.

Out of that lot I would go for the Moussaka, with mediterranean vegetables, and the chocolate melt desserts, with a bottle of wine that's a decent haul for a tenner.

Moussaka is easy enough to make yourself but salting out the aubergines can be a bit of a pain.

The pork looks quite poor just came back from there, so did the chicken but the rest looked good.

Was just in MnS n had the Rump Steak Burgers and the House Salad Bowl in my basket but what a choice between the 2 Fruit Tarts, 2 Melting Middle Chocolate Puddings and the 2 Chocolate Soufflés!!!!!
They ALL looked SOOOO yummy :)

In the end i decided to put it all back cos i figured that my gf and i could go out n eat in a restaurant using 1 of the many BOGOF vouchers that are around at the mo for the same price .... AND there'd be no washin up

Havin said that this is still a HOT deal cos i can't get dessert and wine for that price and if bought seperately, with the wine, the contents of my basket would've come to more than 20 quid n the food looked LOVELY ;-)

Heat from me :)

in our store you get a £5 voucher to redeem off clothing when spending over £35 on clothing kidswear excluded up to 18th may, so really its not just a £5 random voucher there is a catch
anyway they are giving the voucher with all transactions even £1 ones if you dont get one ask you can only get the vouchers in food hall
#25
yes but food prices have gone up in the last 3 years you know

perhaps its because there is a recession on and people are watching their money!
#29
not that at all.. I had been buying M&S food for over 6 years....and round about 2 years ago ... (even the sub prime mortgage thing was on unheard of then so I dont think it was recession fueled)

I started easing on M&S even though I like their seafood ..(the honduran prawn curry dish..)the quality of the fish...Tuna, Monk fish, Seabass, dover sole, plaice....All were and still are very good quality..but prices seem to be alot higher of these products now. Now you may say all prices have gone up generally....

Well, little insight on how M&S used to work then...>I was once in a London store late at night and the staff were collecting food from shelves which had that days date..and throwing it in the bin.

I asked them why and couldnt they give it to the charity companies who can collect and use them? ...
They replied it was company policy and M&S doesnt want to price them down or give it away to charity...

Recently, I started seeing yellow stickers appearing on their products in store with half price deals etc..and prices changed with a high mark up and months later and "Dine in for £10" promotion was launched...which to my thinking is a con. or a way to get new customers .... either way..dine in for £10 doesnt have the whole range of food..and I dont like the mousaka...
