The Indy has been £1.60 on Saturday (£1.80 for Ind on Sunday) since last Autumn.

Wasn't sure of the price so I tried to put £1.50ish but the system wouldn't accept it :-D

£1.50 for one of the best actors of the decade, superb.

Although I already got this on DVD.

both really good films, good deal
#10
Ha watched the Machinist yesterday
#11
worth the cost of the paper then?

Machinist is a good film, for Christian Bale's incredible body transformation if nothing else. It's enjoyable enough if a little gimmicky.
#13
The machinist is an great film, Christian Bales acting is brilliant in serious films such as this and his dedication to the art is phenomenal, like someone said...his body transformation is unreal, and he went on to do Batman the very next year.
#14
i may look into this, fancied the machinist for ages tbh!

El Maquinista!
Great film though you could probably get it for about £3 in a dvd case rather than a card sleeve in a newspaper.

no it's not... it's just the lighting and use of grain. there is no point in the film that is shot in black and white.
#18
nah it's not black & white. Was expecting great things of it but it underwhelmed me overall. Fair play to Bale for the weight loss to play the part though! Mental!

Assassination of Richard Nixon is a good film. :)
#19
Ok films, but really really slow and depressing.
#20
Sean Penn in the latter is the shizz..hot.

I always wonder about Newspaper screener DVDs actually. As dodoegg1 pointed out you can usually get them almost as cheaply in a proper DVD case and well presented - just wonder if the quality of transfer and such is as good with the newspaper ones. I've found it hard to get that sort of info.

Agree with Dollar Dollar.

You usually find it's stereo only and no extras; so don't think it's worth buying the paper JUST for the films.

(occasionally they've lowered the bit-rate too; so can be hit and miss!) Would be happy to be proved otherwise though, if someone wants to post after trying today's out.

But is it about a bloke who falls asleep on the job?

Of course not. It's the total opposite: an insomniac who develops mental issues.
#24
Good film, incredible transformation, Christian Bale apparently ate an apple a day to get down to that size.
